I have been looking to purchase a Pioneer 500 to use at my place near Georgetown, Tx. And at my weekend place near Seadrift, Tx. Also hope to bring it with us when we leave the hell that is Texas in summer for the trails around Ouray, Co. I pull my 2019 F150 behind our diesel pusher RV so I have to get something that will fit in the bed of my pick-up.
I was looking at a new 2018 that was on sale for $7500.00 online from a shop in Ft. worth, Tx. In the meantime I received a text from RideNow in Georgetown, Tx. ( 5 miles from my house) saying they would match the $7500.00 price on a new white 2020. I was really excited and said I would take it. To make a long story short when I got there the total price was over $10,000.00! $7500.00 plus $695.00 delivery charge, $800.00 in taxes 698.00 for dealer prep, and $159.00 license fee plus some other fee that put it over $10,000.00. I told him I thought the $7500.00 plus taxes and shipping should be the total ( something like $8778.00) but no soap. He even told me he would lose money on the deal he offered me. Be careful of these guys! I'm reading on this site about people getting new two year old units for less than $8000.00 out the door! Is this really doable?
I'm driving to Seadrift tomorrow and maybe I can pick one up in Victoria. Can someone please tell me what I should expect to pay over and above the sales price? Looking forward to getting a new Pioneer 500. I do understand that I will spend a fortune on mods.....LOL

Paid 7589 plus tax, title. Included the accessories wiring harness and a t'shirt ;). $8080 OTD. Good enough for me (obviously).

...for my green '18.

One thing I've learned is that OTD doesn't mean the same to everyone, especially internet posters (not here that I've noticed though).

I paid no dealer fees other than their fee to license it for me, which was nominal. I verified this before delivery.

Thanks so much. OTD for me is what I write the check for. The total price.

I bought my new 18 pioneer 500 a couple months ago after doing a month or so of research and shopping around, I paid $77xx out the door from Honda East in Ohio, and that was with no haggling whatsoever. the only fee they have is a $100ish title fee plus taxes. What I learned while shopping was, you have to ask them to list all fees. There was a place in Michigan that had a new 18 listed for around $6500, but after all their hidden fees, it was almost $9000.

If you’re not in a hurry, and pay attention to online sale prices, social media pages of dealers, etc. You’ll find a good deal. Good luck!

On a side note, if you are putting it in your bed, hopefully you have the 6 1/2’ or 8’ bed I’m not sure if it would fit in the 5 1/2’ bed. Might want to make sure before you purchase, if that’s the only way you have to haul it.

My truck has a 6.5' bed. Even in Texas I had to look hard to find anything but the 5.6' bed. I really like an 8' bed but with four doors the truck gets too long.

Considering buying a new 2018 in green. What do you veterans think is a good price for an '18? 2020s are hitting showrooms.

Thanks guys.
One year ago, in October of 2018, I was able to purchase "Rambo" our red Honda Pioneer 500 for $8750 out the door, that means I paid not a cent more than $8750 after tax, title, registration, fees, etc.

I just purchased a used '15 P500 in camo with roof, windshield, bed, and winch. Had 95 miles and 50 hours on it..... scored it for $4500!!! Original recipe was $10664.

Been seeing them new leftovers around St.Louis area for around $6700 in green. Cant say what other fees might get thrown in aside from tax though....

Are you guys getting these prices because you are Ag exempt? The best I can do is about $9200.00 out the door. With the Ag exemption I would save close to $700.00 When I tell them I know of guys that got out the door with a new two year old unit they think I'm BS'ing them. With the Ag deal I can get one for around $8400.00 $8500.00. I can't get anyone to send me a quote they all want to tell you the price on the phone.

The $7589 was quoted to me over the phone. I am not Agg exempt; just a guy.

I’ve never heard of agg exempt. I just shopped the whole state of AZ and this is the best I could find. $8750 OTD

So your quote of $7589.00 was plus tax, delivery and dealer prep? If that was out the door that is a hell of a deal.
I was quoted $7500.00 but after all the fees the price was over $10,000.00!

Ag exempt where I'm located is essentially just no sales tax. Like I mentioned before when I saw them for around $6700-$6800 this is before tax. Generally though there is no setup pricing at your much larger dealers than sell high volumes.

FYI though- these are also the places most people like to stay away from if you're concerned with getting good quality maintenance and warranty coverage.

Yes the spelling is Ag not AGG. Are you saying $6700.00 to $6800.00 plus tax (8.25% in Texas I'm told), shipping ($660.00) and dealer prep (anywhere from nothing to $695.00)? The lowest price I have seen on a 2018 is $7500.00 but then with you add tax, delivery fee and dealer prep you are over $9300.00! I got a quote yesterday from a dealer in Ft. Worth that quoted me $10,000.00 out the door. Well hell I think I can get a 2020 for less than that but I can't find anyone to sell me a new 500 at any year for $8000.00 out the door.

All I'm saying is generally with the high volume dealers around me ALL of the setup fees can generally be negotiated into their advertised price. This is especially true of new old stock. So yes if you were Ag exempt one could be had for right around $7k..... Otherwise no, figure adding at least 7% tax depending on your negotiation skills...... Screenshot 20191113 105811 Chrome

Well I have talked to two dealers in Austin, three in the Dallas Ft Worth area and one in Houston that all have 2018's or 2019's and I can't get a price less than $9000.00 out the door. I can get them to dump the dealer prep fees but not the $660.00 shipping charge. I went to Bass Pro at lunch today and I know it's not a Honda but damn I like the 2020 Textron 500S. Has a great bed on it, the seats are very comfortable and there is more room for my left foot. I can get it for $7999.00 plus tax so $8650.00. I know nothing about the Honda or the Textron but I know the Honda will last forever and does not have the dang CVT. I wish I could read a non biased review or shootout between the two.
