Fast Pace Overland - Sept 5th weekend. Tackett Creek Area!

I am looking to run some trails North of Tackett Creek either:
Aug 29 - Sept 1st (Labor Day weekend)
or Sept 5th - 8th. (first choice)

Arrive Thursday late afternoon. Make camp close by.
Friday, head north.
Camp by a lake one night and wherever the other night.
Be somewhat similar to the route I am planning for MOM at the end of September.

3 nights camping total. Thur, Fri, Sat.
Pack 1-2 gallons of extra fuel.

I am not planning for anything extreme.
New campers welcome.
New riders... I must express caution.

We could start on Friday evening too... dont matter.

I have a POI in Kentucky I want to check. Its fairly far from exit 141 in TN (royal blue)
I would prefer to camp in Kentucky one night on the lake.
Dont have to camp 2 nights if you dont want to.

We can alter plans for your liking.

That sounds awesome, but I’m booked Labor Day weekend, and have to be in Nashville early on the 8th and be there all week, with the days prior having to be here to tend to dad. Maybe someday, I’d love to make that trip.

Harder to get away on short notice for me with my girl starting school again. Wish I could since I missed a lot of it last year babysitting Frogbox. Definitely looking forward to it for the M.O.M. overland

I'm interested in making this trip if it happens. May need some help with what to bring, but think I can figure out the important stuff.

The verdict is out camping. Undecided as a fast group can make the rounds I want to do from basecamp.
I would like to camp at least one night. Need make sure @Hometeam is aboard.
On other nights, we have a coach you can sleep on.

As for camping.
Weather will be a factor. I hammock camp. but tent will do.
If you have never hammock camped, we need to talk about an underquilt. Looks like mid 50's for the low. You will want one.
You can make one out of a blanket or throw. I have a extra too.

Gas.. need 1-2 gallons. We will hit a station sometime.

Our goal is to explore north of Middlesboro if we can find a path.

A small group of 3 or 4 should be able to get things moving.

Got it. Lol, I camped in a tent at the Takeover and have a hammock to sleep on. Will bring a sleeping bag I bought at the takeover, about froze that Wednesday night without a sleeping bag and temps in the low 40's. I'll figure out the gas situation between now and then and likely go with a Rotapax of some type. Fun part is figuring out which one and where to mount it.

Oh, and who's the "coach" I can sleep on? Might want to sleep in the SXS.... alone.
