Well... the skid plate is built. It was a PITA but turned out alright.
Needs one more coat, couldn't resist going green.
I'll post a pic tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing that. I don't blame you for going green, Stacy's looks cool blue, and when I get around to it, I'm sure mine will be red.

Well, there she is...
it was a PITA cuz I'm figuring out that I'm not a steel fabricator and really don't have the proper tools.
Made it work though and covered that hole. Thanks for the idea @Stacy!! Not as nice as yours but...
Good enough for who it's for!

"Good enough for who it's for!"

One of my favorite phrases, Trigger.
No one needs to be pleased with my work but me.

Looks good enough for anyone to me, though.

I fear that if we compare our work to Stacy's, we are all likely to come up short.

His work is the standard to which we can aspire, but we should not necessarily expect to achieve it.

Don't forget, he does this stuff for a living.

Outstanding craftsmanship trigger, looks both great and to be function able. You got some protection added, and that lower hole that drove (me) nuts covered up. I think that thing turned out great. You have a sharp looking ride.

Thanks guys! :)
Self tappers, was the easiest way to go. Thought about taking it down further but
it really wasn't practical other than for the look.
Material was thicker than anticipated and was pretty difficult for me to bend with the tools I have.
Props to guys like Stacy that do that everyday! Give me a pile of lumber and
I'll be in my element. ;)

Oh, and did you paint it or have it powder coated?

It was powder coated black and then I painted it.
Painted it again today with a better color match.
Just couldn't stand it on the front.
Yeah, you know me, brother, ever the diplomatic one:rolleyes:, never say a negative word:eek:, but that color match just wasn't gettin' it.

Olive drab, mint ice cream, and pea soup ain't all the same color...

And you weren't going to say anything?!
I know, that color was working as accent in the back
but in the front it didn't get it.
The only problem is that now I have the matching paint...
gotta redo everything painted green. Ugh!

I'm glad you found the correct color match, let me see a new pic when you get a chance.
