P500 Front locker without power steering

Hi guys…who’s running the front locker without P.S.? How is it?

I've been running mine for about 2 years without power steering. I get along fine without it. I'm sure it would be nice. Just don't feel I need it.

Good to hear…I’ve always run all my buggy’s in 2wd until I need 4wd anyways

That's exactly how I do mine. If I'm not sure of whats ahead I just move the lever to 4x4 and go for it.

In the report I mentioned my thumbs where sore, just to be clear that was from gripping the steering wheel, not from kick back in the wheel.
You do need to keep your thumbs out of the wheel but that was a skill my Dad taught me in the 70’s.
The EPS dose act as a steering damper if you decide to go that route.

My Dad taught me the same thing, early in the same decade...... Hmmm, maybe it was in the late '60s....

I ran mine for a little over a year without PS, I added it for my daughter, she took over the P5 once I got the Talon. It's not necessary but once you have it you'll wish you'd did it from the start.

Same here...no PS. You get a hitch in the steering on some turns, but generally not a big deal.

Just a note, but I think it also matters what tires you're running up front. The more aggressive they are, the harder your steering will be, particularly at low speeds. I have PS + TL + K9 Supergrips, and even with that it can be a bit of a pain until I get rolling a bit. I can't imagine it without PS.

Once you have it you'll wish you'd did it from the start.

The second or third time the steering wheel was ripped from my hand I decided to add power steering.

Probably no big deal to younger whipper snappers 👶 , but would wear me out quick 👴 I do a lot of steering lock to lock driving, Tired= no fun = less driving

I like the 1 handed-snow-plowing while drinking my hot chocolate that my EPS gives me.
