Having a bad problem with the gas vent. It is extended to the roof but today the smell and it is dripping gas. In the Black Hills and it is mid 90s. Appreciate any help.

Have read that if there is any dip(low spot) in the hose, it can actually cause a siphon effect when going over bumps.
"But, but, I only have half a tank." Might be so, but the fuel already traveled through the line to the low spot, and each bump pulls more fuel.
Our fuel caps are tight, no vent.
.
edit to add and bold for @bumperm
Quick fix, open the fuel cap as soon as you smell fuel.
Me, (WITH THE CAP OFF) I would blow through the hose forcing the fuel slug back into the tank.
But, use your air compressor, (WITH THE CAP OFF) that is probably the smart way to do it.
Edit again, Just a little pressure to force the fuel out of the line.
If you are at home with a 150PSI compressor..... NO! just NO! 😞
I meant the little, takes 15 minutes to air up to 15lbs, compressor that most of us have stashed somewhere in our Hondas.
.
Final fix, follow your vent hose. It must always be going up.
You can not have any low spot, dip under a bar, or have any loop.
.
Check it, and let us know what you find.
.
Have a good day

Just make darn sure that, when you use a compressor to pressurize the tank vent, the gas tank cap is OFF!

Failure to do so may cause other exciting, but unpleasant, things to happen.
