Gear slips?

I noticed on my p5 if I'm in manual 3rd gear and slow down to less than 9mph when coasting the gear automatically drops to 2nd gear.
Is that normal operation?

Down shifting is normal.. it’s supposed to do that.

Even in manual mode it will still downshift for you when you slow down
