I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a set of carnivores.. but notice that they say the compound is great for rocks/dessert driving.. does this mean they aren't going to be any good on snow/ice? Does anyone have feedback for that? I live in eastern canada and we do get a lot of winter driving in.

for what it is worth, I have the 30" Carnivores on my YXZ. At 450 miles fronts show no wear, but rear have some (not extreem but show more than my Liberties did at 600 miles). I plan to just rotate front / rear. I had them at Moab in rocks & on a big ride across Utah by Hurricane with lots of loose rock. I generally love the tires as far as handling, quite, and smoothness on roads. They clean out light mud a lot quicker than the liberties. The Liberties seem to throw mud forever after going through a light muddy area (not deep mud, I avoid it)

As promised, here are the 32” Carnivores on stock wheels. I’ve only ran them down the road and back for about a mile so I can’t provide any valuable trail feedback yet.

I can definitely say I immediately noticed there’s more tire to get turning. For my riding style it probably won’t be any kind of an issue. However, if you’re a fast-paced rider or racer and find your self rapidly accelerating frequently to get up to speed, then you probably won’t like these tires without a turbo.

I did notice, though, that they seem to have relieved some of the jerky throttle response so that could be a silver lining with the added size and weight.

I don’t see any clearance issues and don’t think they’ll rub at all on the R model. I can’t speak to the X model. My width is now exactly 70" front and rear.

Who makes those rock sliders? And do they come out as wide as the tire on the rear?

My buddy installed 32's and said the top speed was 62 mph at Moab. I installed 30 inch Terrabites. At 5,000 feet elevation my top speed is 73 mph and it takes awhile to get there. The stock tires hit the rev limiter at 75 mph. I need a good top speed and the 30's are working great. Most of my high speed cruising is 40 to 55. I run a lot of 4th and 5th in the sand washes. If your going to install the turbo they have a flash for 28's, 30's, and 32's.

I can't speak to what tire sizes will fit the X model without rubbing. I don't want to steer you the wrong way so I'll let someone with an X chime in on this.

Has anybody tried Maxis carnivore or any brand 32x10x15 on stock wheels, i’ve seen or 9 inch wide will fit I’m concerned about 10 inch wide with the shock mount I’ve already got them ordered I wonder if I need spacers
Just put 30” terrabites on 5+2 wheels. I think 32’s would rub the front fenders when turned and hit the rear shock mount. Not sure if the power steering would like 32’s or not.

I've got 100 or so miles on 32 carnivores on a stock x4. I've had the front rub slightly twice, once I was sliding around a corner in the snow at speed. The rears popped out of the ruts and tried to come around, so I was full crank and hit a little bump. The other time was coming down hill and crossing a ditch while having to crank hard again. All the weight was on that tire.

I did over heat my power steering once, we played in the snow, so dropped to ~5 lbs and then drove a few miles home on a very windy road. But before that, I've done entire rides in the snow at 2 lbs with no issues. Just the mix of pavement and low pressure is what it didn't like.
