From a dawn drive..decided to hit my light bar.
road was bumpy...not knowing I hit the out..on my
winch...dragging tail..for about 100 or so feet..
now looking for covered switch...glad I wasn't pulling
..into a group of riders...

Yikes! Did it screw up your cable? That could've been horrible if it had grabbed something on the trail just right. I was going to ask if it was 4:21 pm but you said a dawn drive.

95% of 420..
done at home...
but there's camping...
& a concert...every once
..in awhile.

Only used it once..
apparently not..
installed by Honda...
default switch..
just checked...push off or on...
stays there...till ya stop it..
which is in the middle

Yes for right now I just have a simple lighted toggle with a cover in line with the winch rocker. Toggle on power to rocker.

Yes. Key on power runs through toggle to winch rocker on mine

You were trying to describe...bump
switch..which means..goes out...or brings in..
..as you bump the switch....correct.
mine don't do that..but my neighbors does...
only used once..2 half yrs ago..
so can't say if it was always that way...
or now it is..

They are called momentary switches. I use one for my winch too. Just for safety though I use a winch power switch also. So I flip a power switch and then use the in/out switch. I guess the covered switch saves space though
