Just booked Sept. 20-25, cabin A at Lizzie and Charlies....I think this is my one chance of a lifetime trip to ride with several great people at one of the best scenic places in the world. I'm nervous, but very excited about this adventure!!!
You will quickly find out there are no strangers in this group. The best group on and off the web!!!!

Unfortunately, there is no way I can make this trip. Riding in Utah is on the to do list for sure. It is on the short list of things we might do for my sons 16 birthday in 2020.

I'm not far from you so I know exactly what you mean. It is definitely the 4 solid travel days (two each direction) that hurt pulling it off right now. To make it work for us, I will make it a two to three week trip. It will certainly be awesome when we do it. All in due time.

To whomever does go out there at some later date, I highly recommend going in the off season unless you prefer large crowds especially around places like MOAB. Which should also be on y'alls to do list for sure and its so close to the Paiute trail that it'd be an awful shame not to stop and ride any of the amazing trails near there. It's otherwise really hot out there in the summer.

I dug through my stash of maps and I have a pile of OHV maps for these areas. If you don't already have one, I'd like to recommend the Benchmark Road and Recreation atlases. Huge amount of detail and information. I like to carry one with me to use in conjunction with my InReach Explorer GPS. I have one for each of the western states. Here is also a copy for all you P1000 drivers, of the Arapeen OHV trail riding areas. Sorry pix aren't that great but now you can order some ahead of time if you want hard copies. I believe they're free. Just contact the Manti - La Sal National forest district offices for that area.

I thought I had posted it here but apparently not. Reposting this from the Bar scene over there on the other side..
I just pulled this off another page out there. Thought it might be pertinent for the larger machines. Article dated 2017.
Where possible, trail systems have adjusted widths to accommodate these larger UTVs. The Paiute Trail now has three width designations and the Arapeen has expanded over 77 miles of trail to 66 inches."

Oi was diggin through me Cartography collections and found some more Maps of some of the areas for which we will be exploring. I've been on a number of BLM and NF roads and trails these past 10 years exploring Utah's backcountry. Many of these maps can be picked up for free or purchased inexpensively from district BLM offices and NF ranger stations. The opened up map is from the Ritchfield area also within the areas planned for riding.
