I was wondering how deep can we go in water on a stock bike before we run into problems?

This depends on how fast you go. The air intake is under the front hood so you don't want to go fast, it will create a wake that can get in there.

Also, you will want to raise the gas tank vent like i did.

I'm not sure what diameter the hose is. I keep Tygon fuel line in my shop of various sizes and used it since there will be fuel vapors there.

With that said, please don't route the line where it will be close to heat and use a hose rated for fuel or at least fuel vapors. I ran my hose extension up to the back of the seat which is high enough for me. I don't plan on going deep enough for water to go over the seat and this hose is ~6" over the seat bottom.

I myself is curious also, my main concern with it being in the front is crossing something short that may be deep just for a second , I've never had the need to snorkel any of my atv's but I've crossed spots that the front would go under for just a second but then would pop back up and water never got close to seat where the intake is on my atv's

Just open the hood and remove the intake cover. You will see the design and then can measure the height. It looks like it would be pretty easy for water to enter if you splash into a deep hole.

Also, it may only take one gulp of water and then you're hydro-locked.

Don't forget to snorkel the sub trans. It's vented under the seat.
