Perhaps max inflation is 37 psi?

I quoted this spec from the Tensor tire site earlier and wondered what the 37 psi meant.

"28x10R14 | 1323 lbs. @ 14psi | 37 lbs"

I'm pretty sure that's the weight of the tire. That number gets higher as the tire size increases.

Yes, agreed. The tire is rated to carry 1323 lbs. @ 14 psi but the next number - 37 lbs. - is the one I'm thinking is maximum inflation pressure..

I run vision beadlocks with SuperATV Intimidator tires. On trail I run 10psi. At home working I run 14psi.

@1323lbs with 14 psi you could probably get away with 10 to 12 easy at home. I wouldn't want to go lower than 10 without beadlocks. I have found the lower the psi the smoother it will ride.

Thanks to both above for the helpful advice. My plan is to drive it a few days @ 18psi then try 16 psi or even 15 psi iaw sidewall guidelines.

A smoother ride would be welcome.

With my tire inflation pressure, that is.

I recently installed a set of four Tensor Regulator size 28x10x14 on Pioneer 1000 LE wheels. The tires are DOT approved 8 ply rated and pretty stiff. The P1K3 rides, drives, and handles well with the tires on dry pavement but it seems a little skittish on smooth wet blacktop.

Tire inflation pressure is around 21 psi and the tread surface looks flat to the naked eye but I'm not sure I have full tread contact with the road surface.

I'd like to try a little lower inflation pressure but don't want to risk a sudden deflation in a curve at 45 mph due to a tire bead losing it's seal on the rim. I don't do any trail riding or rock climbing so no worry about a rock breaking the bead seal.

These tires are probably molded with a hard rubber compound and never going to have the wet pavement grip of Michelins or other high quality highway tires so lower inflation pressure may not help.

What do the experienced owners recommend for inflation pressure?

I run the exact same tire on one of my P1K’s and off road I keep 12-14 psi with great performance in all off road surfaces. I run 28-30 in them on my overland treks when hitting lots of asphalt and hard pack county roads. Keeping a compressor on board, I have had to deflate and reinflate according to conditions. And as a bonus, these tires wear very well……

I had a physical therapy appointment this morning and drove my buggy (which s now my car). I deliberately pushed hard on curves. The ride and road grip are noticeably improved at 18 psi on dry pavement.

I'll feel more confident reducing inflation to as low as 14 psi since no one is reporting surprise deflation.

I had a physical therapy appointment this morning and drove my buggy (which s now my car). I deliberately pushed hard on curves. The ride and road grip are noticeably improved at 18 psi on dry pavement.

I'll feel more confident reducing inflation to as low as 14 psi since no one is reporting surprise deflation.

I run 8 to 10 PSI with ITP's in the rocks, no issues!

I run 13/14 psi with stock wheels and tires. This year, there has been quite a few strong storms. Roads in the hills are washed out pretty good and rocky. 300 miles and no flats or popped beads, I think I'll leave them right there until I get beadlocks.

That is very likely the maximum pressure to seat the beads. FWIW: I would never run a tire above the maximum pressure stated on the sidewall. 14-15 PSI sould be plenty. Running high pressures only reduces the contact patch, wet, dry, pavement or dirt, you don't want a tire that is barely in contact with the road or trail. I cannot imagine that the things would come off the beads at 15 psi.

I would assume the 37 lbs to be the weight of the tire, not the pressure rating max psi (pounds square inch)! 37 psi is more than recommended for most passenger cars.

For those higher pressures we were talking about DOT approved for on road use Tensor Regulators. Absolutely no one should exceed the max pressure listed on any tire…..👍

And the 28x10x14 Tensor Regulator does weigh 37 lbs……
