Well here’s the problem with that, big business has no use for secure borders, they are all about globalization, they want the free flow of goods, capital and labor, cheap labor. And both parties pander to big business and their lobbyists deep pockets. Our border has not been secure my entire life and never will be.

I believe by not listening to the media and watching the economy around me, we were nearing the end of a down turn, President Trump ( And notice the word President, I haven't witnessed a leader in that role that has earned that title in a long time) and he just had the confidence of the the United States to accelerate the recovery! And that was no little down turn!

Btw, 26% of Americans are registered as republicans, 29% are registered as democrats, 44% are registered as independents. If the independents actually voted independent, we wouldn’t be talking about Clinton or Trump.

The recovery was already accelerating. Remember Bush crashed the economy on his way out the door, the country was hemorrhaging 300,000 jobs a month December and January, Bush’s last two months in office. The stock market was falling. That’s what Obama inherited.

By the middle of March however, the stock market began to climb and it climbed throughout Obama’s presidency. And we’ve been on Trumps budget for less than a year. Obama’s budget didn’t end until October of 2017. That’s the US physical year.

Agreed, I didn’t say that independents don’t vote for one of the major parties. I was pointing out that being the problem.

Only 26% of Americans registered as independents when Reagan was president and now its 44%. This is growing because Americans are increasingly disgruntled with their parties. America badly needs a third party alternative to the two dinosaurs....IMO

You said “if independents actually voted independent we wouldn’t be talking about Trump or Clinton” this implies that another candidate would have won and independents wouldn’t have voted for D or R. This is just blatantly false. Most independents are that because they don’t believe either big party and want to decide for themselves based on the people running. Not because they are libertarians, socialists, or anything else...
