P500 It’s time to upgrade, Wife says so!!

Hey all, my wife has finally came around to the idea that she would like to ride with the boys. The p5 has been a great machine but she wants something we can all ride in at our weekend property. I have a few questions and would like some opinions. Here is a list of what it is.

2017 Honda pioneer 500
240 miles
Honda roof
Honda windshield
Tusk rear windshield
Curt rack
Tool box
ITP black steel wheels w/ center caps
26” Sedona mud rebel rt 8ply radial (30 miles)
1. How much is it worth?
2. Probably better to sell outright I’m guessing??

If your getting a new Honda , decide what you want for it . Get price of new one , deduct the price u want for the p5 and make them an offer .Out the door ! like new one is 20k , u want 8k for yours , tellem you will give them 11.5 out the door and its not a starting point it is exactly what you will do .

Whoa.. that’s an awesome looking unit, shouldn’t have any trouble selling/trading, especially close to hunting season. I’d say perfect timing as new Model year should be out soon and dealerships will be wanting to deal on this year (2018 and 2017) and last years new stock. Love it when a guy gets the Mrs’s endorsement... so cool she wants to be outdoors too.

Thanks, I’ve put a little $$$ in it. I’m taliking with a guy I know who wants it. He says $6800, I said bring it up to $7400 and she’s yours lol.

That is a sweet looking 500. I really was considering a 500 when I bought my 1000. I would have set it up identical to yours. A year and a half, and two-thousand miles after buying my 1000, I still have a strong liking for the 500s. Sometimes I wish I would have bought a 500 instead.

That’s not a bad idea.

You have nothing to loose and if they come back with a higher offer , if it's close enough for you then do it , if not , thank them and walk . They will call you within a few days probably .Remember they NEED to sell , you don't NEED to buy .

Around here the P500 can command good money and go relatively quickly. So, if the same is true where you live, then I would recommend selling it out right, so you can deal with multiple dealers on the next unit. Just my two cents…

I think $7400 is pretty good, I’m not sure the dealer would give me that. I’ve talked to two dealers and they say to sell it outright.

That’s because they probably have 2017 and 2018 “new” P500 inventory and they need to get rid of it. Im guessing the incremental difference (loosing a sale to used imacculate inventory, like yours) in their fleet does not make sense for them, when they can make more on New floor models.

I say keep this one and buy one more.... then you can race the wife.

I had a 700, picture shown and was a great machine. Unlike the 500, the option to lock all 4 wheels is a nice option. For myself, the unit was slightly larger than I could use on portions of land and the only reason for selling it. Be sure to post some pictures when it arrives....
