42" inch light bar mounts perfectly to the inside hole on the roof mounts. The rubber just squashes down on the second bolt but no big deal. It's like Honda made the roof mounts like that for that reason lol.

Now that's some serious light! It's good to know the glare isn't bad.

I had a light above the windshield of my truck and hated it. Then put one on the front bumper and loved it.

Hey joe. I've ridden at all hours down her in Florida early morning to 1am out in the woods. No problem with glare. Even while riding in the pouring rain(will post a video of that once I figure out how to). The second picture with it under the brim of the roof was actually horrible even if it didn't bounce. The roof blocked some of the light and there was a horrible glare. I'm 6'3. With it mounted there it was just above eye level.
Agree it was fine riding in rain with it up top. I don't think it matters as much at low speed. Maybe if you're running at full tilt but running 25-35 it never gave me an issue.

The faster you move the more matter sand, dust, snow, rain that is being lit up at any period of time meaning the more glare right at your windshield.

Also in foggy/ snowy conditions you're not gonna see ANYTHING but the glow from your roof lights at least in front of your hood it's not quite as bad but still gives a glow.

Oh I could most definetely see a someone having a glare while using a windshield in certain scenarios. Down here in florida theirs no way im using a windshield tho lol.

I went riding a few days ago with a ranger and a rzr 1000 4 seater loaded down. I was in the back. They were throwing up some mad dirt and dust. They said I was lighting up the entire trail as far as they could see lol

I'm still not sure where I want to mount a light bar. Nor am I sure about what size.

Thanks @Scooterchris for posting pics and thoughts about your two setups. This will be helpful to me when I start that process.

That's why I'm considering a curved bar at the top of the windshield.
Hoping for some deals on boxing day.
I am going to start mounting mine tonight and I went with a 32in curved.

  1. Looking to buy
Just finished installing my 22 inch light bar. It didn't fit in front of the windshield like I wanted so I mounted it on the bumper. I have two cube lights to put on the a-pillars and the two 7 inch bars for the back. Lights are addicting

Good point.... I hooked up a second battery too so at least I'd still have cranking power should i drain it too far.
