I’m having better luck uploading files this morning...

Looks like a fun and enjoyable ride. Relaxing as hell too,I’d guess. Not to mention the beautiful country side. Quite the rig ya have there!! Built for the task. Stay safe and bear free. Looking forward to more pics.

Hey Monte how’s that camper do for dust control inside as you’re riding?
As long as I keep the windows and vent closed it’s tight. But you mention dust....OMG, it’s everywhere, gets where you don’t even want it, everything has to be wiped before you open it, windshield has to be washed at every mountain spring (which are plentiful) and the squaw had to wash her hair at camp both nights, she couldn’t stand it. :D:D

Thank you Rockydog. Yes it’s very relaxing, we’ve budgeted the time to stop as often and long as we’d like, not missing any side trips either. The rig is holding up well and the bear spray and heat is at hands reach constantly.

Made Elk City about 4:00 pm and checked in to the hotel, and didn’t fight over the shower....:D:D:D

Unhooked the trailer and cruised around the small town to dinner and the very old store, and replenished ice and a couple sundries. Man it feels light, peppy and free without that 1000 lbs back there....:D

Dust is bad on the dirt roads right now is why I asked. Looks like you shouldn’t be too bad with the back window and front one opened. The trailer might effect cabin pressure some. How’s mileage going with that guy?

Had a couple cocktails at the VFW with some rough and tumble elk snout mountain men. Miners, loggers and villains, the stories and cowboy poems were flowing....:D

I had one five gallon left when I arrived, so not great mileage, but I had what I need...

Going back to Darby already? I thought you were going to run the Elk City Wagon road first..

I figure you wont get this post until you get to Darby, but I hope you make it up to Burnt Knob! The view from up there is spectacular!

So we’re back in Darby...........Veterans of the Magruder Corridor Trail. The squaw is quite proud of herself...:D

This is near the top of the adventurous things I’ve done in my life. Can’t really describe the feeling of being so remote for such a long period. But the oneness, the absence of any sounds whatsoever and the shear vastness looking out across such a wilderness in any direction and knowing that as far as you can see, there’s not another soul (save whoever else may be within that ribbon of Corridor) or dwelling, makes you feel small, and all I could keep contemplating were those adventurous and tough pioneers and mountain men that crossed this country, absent the amenities, tools, supplies, maps and spaced out campsites that we enjoyed!!!

I’m definitely inspired to plan the next, bigger event....

Leaving Elk City the back way, we crossed the Red River....

Saw this really cool two story cabin that I’d love to have on my property.

The first side trip was the 20 mile out and back to visit the Red River hot springs, maybe even have a brief soak...... but oh no, the proprietor has left and locked the gate, and rather than posting a sign at the beginning of the road, adjacent to the Red River Ranger Station, this is what we found out there....
