Has anyone added a middle seatbelt for a kid? Was thinking of getting a lap belt out of the scrap yard and bolting it in.

Would suggest a trigger shield to cut down the heat from that middle section if adding a middle passenger.

Yeah, that area is pretty tight. I had a console that I built about 6" wide that I ran before adding buckets and our hips were pressed against each side. We're not fat but not skinny either. Don't think anyone would be comfortable in a P5 with a child in the middle.
If your the size of a barbie doll you might fit. I used a fender bag off of my Rancher as a middle console and it was only 6" wide and if i had a passenger i would put it in the bed.
I have an 8 pound dog that barely fits in that area.
If you had two people that weighed a combined 300 pounds, you might have room for a toddler in that area, but nobody would be comfortable.
I'm about 170, my wife about 145... we are fairly fit and stay active riding bikes, hiking and kayaking... and we still have little room for this

Would definitely want to call shotgun on that ride. LOL. We have a toy poodle and he barley fits in that space.
