2018 Pioneer 1000/5. Twice now we have flipped large sticks upward into the frame rails under the floor boards and had them go through the floor barely missing our feet. Once on each side. The frame has no skid plate along the outer edge and sticks get kicked and wedged against the rear cross frame forcing them through the floor. I can make a skid plate to cover that area but thought I would see if anyone was making this part. Luckily the push rivets gave way and the plastic floor wasn’t busted. Pictures show one of the results of the puncture and the log I removed.

I had an old tie rod off a truck come through the floor on mine, hopefully the full skid plate will prevent that from happening again.

I installed the Ricochet Rock sliders as well after doing the same thing. Heard several sticks break when hitting them since then. Changing the firewall out is a royal pain. Don't want to do that again.

I recommend a full skid plate as well. I use the SuperATV. It is cheaper than others in the 1/2" range when you catch it on sale. I bought mine last year on black Friday for $580 shipped/taxed.

X2 on this....throw the factory one away and get a real skid plate....they're spendy but worth every penny for the protection you get.

It’s the honeycomb area that adds to the danger of stick penetration as it grabs the end of a stick. The added piece that Honda covered that with should serve well in deflecting sticks. It looks like it can be added to prior years.
Mine came up through the floorboard.
