I bought a 3.5" gauge style stereo from planet audio. it fit perfectly inside a piece of 3" pic pipe. I used a short piece of pipe at the front and a longer piece at the rear with a cap to hold all the wires. the pipes are connected by a rubber coupler.
the speaker box houses 2 boss marine 20 amp speakers and a 200 watt amplifier as well as an accessory socket/lighter. 2 toggle switches control power, 1 switch turns on the amp and stereo, the other switch controls the accessory outlet. I made the box inside frame out of scrap lumber I cut to size, 1"X1.25", the exterior is 1/4" luan (sanded plywood basically) and painted black with a rattle can. I'm a pack rat so I had everything I needed for the build but I did make a trip to town for wire ties and some terminals. it sounds great and takes up little room in the vast outer space of the Pioneer cab.
