Now, on from the ideas to the what to buy and how to do it stuff.

To replace your progressive rate springs with single rate, you'll need 14" springs (P1000 5-seater.) On the front, those springs will be 2.5" inside diameter. On the rear, you'll need to go with 3" ID springs, unless you want to get rid of the plastic mud guard in there - then you can use 2.5" ID back there as well.

The spring weight will be your choice. What I'm seeing here is that most of the guys like to run 250 lb springs on the front, and 275-350 lb springs on the back, depending on how much they haul around and how they like their ride.

I chose to go with 250 lb 2.5" diameter on the front and 300 lb 3" diameter in the rear.

In spring lingo, these are referred to as:
2.5 x 14 x 250
3.0 x 14 x 300

I have found a surprisingly low number of suppliers out there for springs. Summit Racing has a great selection and low prices on the 2.5" ID springs (and free shipping over some amount) but they're price nearly doubles on the 3" ID springs, leading many to consider ditching the mud guard.

Daves Offroad Supply is a little more expensive on the 2.5's, but not nearly as bad on the 3's. I had grown fond of the red springs with my white machine with white a-arms, and Summit springs only come in silver or blue, if I recall correctly. Dave's had red ones, I could get 3" for the rear, and overall paid about $20 more with shipping and everything than I would have paid from Summit.

Anyone finding more sources, add them here for other shoppers!
Are you happy with your spring rate choice or would you change it? I want to do the same for mine and I cannot find any information on the recommended rate I should go with.

Yeah, I've been satisfied with 250/300. This week was the first time I ran all day with four passengers and it held up just fine.
Did you adjust the shock settings at all?

I am going to place an order for some single rate Viper springs and I am tore between the 300lb and 350lb for the rear.

At home I frequently use the pioneer for work. I always have a shovel, axe, farm jack, and swamp donkey with subwoofer on the roof. I also have a full size marine battery under the driver seat. Finding information on spring rate recommendations based on machine weight is hard.

That's why I bought the Elka's, once and done.

My Pioneer weighs 2025 # without me or any passengers in it. I have it loaded with too much s***..
That's why I added heavier(350#) rear springs. It rides and handles great, empty or with passengers. 7/8" preload gives me about 12.5" to 13" clearance at 13 psi.
YMMV

I set ours up for trail riding weight, because I don't haul heavy loads very far.

I just ordered my Fox QS3's and the Vipers in black @ 250#/300#. My use is likely more like @WagginTail. Will advise on how these work out for me.

Also wanted something a little safer/easier than straps: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FZTQ62W?tag=sxsweb24-20 (received today - they seem pretty rugged - not bad for $25).

Those look decent. I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I went ahead and bought this set some time ago.

Then my buddy used them on something and the bearing race on one of them started to break apart, so I wouldn't recommend them. At least the seller gave me a refund (and didn't want them back anyway.)

Finally have all the bits and pieces in hand (250#/300# springs, shocks and compression tool). Hopefully I'll find time to get this done this weekend.
It's easy peasy on your lunch break :p
