My 2016 pioneer 1000 will not idle correctly. I have cleaned out the gas tank and put fresh gas in it.

How many miles? Spark plug condition? Air filter condition?

Btw welcome to the club!

It has a little under 1900 miles on it. It still has the original spark plugs in it. The air filter was replaced last fall and still looks good. Just put a new battery in it. How do you clean the injectors?

You could try a liquid off the shelf cleaner. Or you take the efi unit offhand remove injectors from the cylinder. I'm a bit vague as I did it on an inline 4 motorcycle last. Had similar issues but 2 cylinders were not getting gas.

Before I changed the gas I had poured some Lucas gas treatment and injector cleaner in but didn’t help.

Will it idle good sometimes. The other times bad?

Need to. Check the injector wires.

Let it idle and barely pull on the injector wires. Does idle change?

If so bad wires. Need to repair them.

We did @100Acre's on the trail this past weekend.

About two months ago it would clear up sometimes but now it won’t. I tried pulling on the wires and it didn’t seem to change

Apparantly the green wire has a tendency to break so I went ahead and ordered another plug kit for the club store and @Hondasxs had suggested I change the other one. Although I don't remember what it was for.

I don't know much about reading plugs either... but both of those look too black.
I also just remembered so I wanted to mention the IACV wires have been found to be broken simular to the injector issue.

Mine had the same symptoms you are having. It would not set a code but would barley run. Put new plugs in and now it runs like new again.

Plugs are definitely darker than they should be, Honda's are notoriously lean burning from the factory, I would expect them to be a very light tan. New plugs are needed but the question is why did they foul. I doubt the plugs failed on there own, especially with the low miles.

Question.... how was the vehicle driven for those 1900 miles? If it was a lot of start/stops, short runs without really getting the engine up to operating temps I can see why the plugs could be fouled.

I don’t abuse it. Usually drive around in the summer at deer camp four or five times a year and in the winter it is pretty much to the stand and back to camp. I put new plugs in it today and it runs much better. Still seems to idle tough but responsive when given gas. I’m gonna give it a little while to see if it fouls the plugs again. I think I might still have an injector problem but does smell better while idling. Thanks to all of y’all for the help. I hope it’s fixed. Also ordered the injector plug kit last night and will put it on when it gets here.

If you have accessories, I’d check for something grounding out, or disconnect your accessories and see if it still does it.

Have you checked the oil? Does it smell like fuel? If it does change it immediately. If not run the piss out of it for a few miles.......not joking! It will help.
