P1000 Ordered a Warn 4500# winch, do I need to add a battery?

So I ordered a Warn 4500 pound ProVantage series winch for my P1000. Just wondering if it would be wise to add a second battery to accommodate the current loads that will be used by the winch?

Check out the amp draw chart from Warn for the 4500. An additional (or single, but larger) battery will definitely help on extended pulls. Possibly long enough to start worrying about the winch duty cycle.

If you hook it up correctly and use it correctly it will work with one battery.

My P1000-3 is running a Warn ProVantage 4500 and though I have only used it to raise and lower my snow plow, it works just fine.

I pulled my 1000-5D over a huge bolder with the Warn 4500 using only the stock battery. Having said that, I am adding a second battery tomorrow to be safe.

I have the factory battery only works fine. Used with my snow plow and a few hard pulls in snow.

Man where these things will go in 2 drive, I can't imagine the need for a second battery for the winch, I have used my winch 0 times and yes I ride some gnarly stuff.

@rlutech I have Yausa dual battery. Installed at same time I put my Warn Vantage 4000-s in.
Also put isolator from QuadBoss. Total spend was like $200 battery and all.

Maybe not because of the winch, but the radio, amp, lights, bilge fan, switch panel.... etc.

If you want to insure you won't have low voltage issues then yes. Second battery and isolator

Was stuck yesterday and it pulled us out no problem.

I really only want a winch because I ride alone with my wife. I don't want to be stuck with a 1200 lb. machine in the middle of nowhere and not have any options. I generally try to avoid gnarly areas while riding alone, but want to be prepared. Have even come across trees across the trail and no way around it. Still not sure if I'm going to add a battery yet or not.

You can add it later if you just do minimal winching you will be ok.

Everywhere is different man. I still didn't find bottom. Took us 30 mins to get it out cause I didn't have a winch and my buddy had a 4 wheeler.

My clutches were fried by the time we were out.

First stuck. Made it through on the way out but coming back in it got us. Good times!
