Hello everyone, I'm a new guy on the forum. Me and my wife are big creek riders, my wife rides a 1999 Honda 300 2wd, I ride a 2014 420 Rancher 4x4. I sold my Rancher last weekend to buy a SXS. I'm wanting a 1000 Deluxe and am wanting to know how they handle in water and mud? electronics and the weigh are my concerns, and we do not snorkel or submerge our rides.

Welcome @TimCan13,
I too love playing in creeks. Currently my 1000 won't fit here locally. (I'm working on that). lol. I have to take the 300 for now. But for the short distance I have cleared out it does seem to do great. Ya, I got stuck a few times. lol. And once you get this thing sitting on its belly you are not moving it. A winch will need to be your first mod.... Reading your post I can tell you already know a good set of wider tires with low pressure is what she needs and I think it would run a sandy creek all day. Still, get that winch first as you are SOL without.

Check this thread for snorkel options and look into snorkeling the rest of the vehicle to prepare it for deep water fording.

Water pours in where the break and gas pedals are other than that it does great. The belt drive I had would slip with smallest amount of water on it.
