As I recall yours is higher up the pedal too.
Yeah.. my bracket is angled up. But I put my hole in the center and it’s square with the contact shaft. With that pad I used it I could have been off a 1/4” and it still be fine

I'd have to look at installed again to be sure. I'm leaning towards making another single piece bracket and taking better dimensions.

Just ordered the lever. Won’t take me long to make it T at work with very minimal material so if I screw it up then no big deal. I’ll just do it again. Looks simple enough.

Can anyone explain how the parking brake works on the P1K? Has anyone parked on a steep hill yet and had to leave it in park? Did the tranny bind up when you tried to take it back out of park? I've been hesitant to park mine on a steep hill...
I am wondering if something like a golf kart pak break would work

Hillbilly brake just holds the brake pedal down once engaged. Yes you can park on the hill engage the hillbilly brake and then put the transmission into park and it will not bind. Then before releasing the parking brake put the transmission back into the desired gear and release the hillbilly break by pushing down on the brake pedal and it will automatically unlock.

This brake works great and cost 13 bucks for 2 of them. It does require making a mount plate and drilling though.

Do not just use Park on a grade. You'll wear off the tip of the parking pawl inside subtrans. Then park wont hold at all.

So is anyone using this? Honda Pioneer 1000 Parking / Hill Brake | Hillbilly Brake

Is it worth the cost/trouble? I've got to believe that Honda engineers knew what they were doing and forsaw that people would be stopping on an incline at some point and didn't think not having an e-brake was a big deal.
No matter the meticulous design and careful planning the manufacturer dedicated to it's products, a good percentage of people are not content to use it as designed.

If it isn't broken fix on it until it is 🤷‍♂️

No experience with the hillbilly brake. Guess I'm just a tightwad but I prefer my 11.00 solution (I actually got 2 for that 11.00). Just my .02

I have the hill billy brake. With the addition of mud and corrosion the spring works poorly so it doesn't pop to unlock and sometimes you need to beat on it a bit to let it slide to lock. Overall it's a neat idea but not a perfect execution

Mine works perfectly, only had it since the 21 TO, I will keep it lubricated, Thanks for the heads up!
