Bought new Sept. 2016. Have about- I'll have to look, but over 1200miles. No repairs- other than self inflicted damage. No Honda failures. None.

I have a 2015, sanded the engine and trannie, 4000.00 to rebuild. 1000 miles. Lots of dust in eastern oregon. I snorkeled the air intake, ran the intake tubes up behind my head. Put a uni filter sock on each snorkel tube, they work as a pre filter. Dual uni filter in the air box. The stock air intake is right above the drivers rear fender and has to be the poorest intake placement ever seen. My friends 700’s have a similar set up. The 1000’s have the intake up front under the hood, like my buddies Yamaha, where it should be. I built the snorkel out of 2” pvc from the box behind the drivers seat and went up with two 1 1/2 pvc pipes. If you are running in a high dust areas, snorkel your 500 or 700, or pay the piper!

Parts and labor to include crank, all trannie bearings, head, piston, barrel, rings, seals, basicly a new engine and trannie, the snorkel system with the pre filters on top of the snorkels pipes is working well.

2015 P500 bought August 2015, 800 miles zero issues, only routine maintenance (2 oil / filter changes). Ride very challenging East TN terrain, some hills so steep can't pull 2nd gear only 1st :)

I had to change my vote... front diff seal started leaking so I’m replacing it. So v
that’s 2 diff seals and a cooling fan I have had to replace. Not bad considering what it’s been through...

My starter went bad around 1300 miles. The new part was about $85 and it took about 10 min to swap out. Dealer parts guy said i was the first that he knew of to have that problem.

Is that from submerging, or mud, or did these components just fail?

I go through mud and water... the seals had sand in them... I’m sure it didn’t help.

No actual Honda issues to date but it's fairly new (2018). A stick punctured a front CV boot so I installed guards.

Based on this thread and forum, I anticipate many trouble free miles. Fun shall be had. I look forward to meeting @Mudder and running some trails.

Bought ours autumn of 2014, around 3600 kms 2200 miles I think. Regular maintenance that’s it, tore 1 front and 1 rear axle(s) boots from sticks. Typical Honda reliability, beauties little rig used mostly for work.

$0 so far.
Other than replacing factory tires at 1200 miles, alot of that on the road, and they still have some life left.

Just about 2000 miles and two years old now. ZERO Honda related failures. It just starts and runs the same as the day I bought it. Every time.
Had to change my vote: The little micro switch under the 'upshift' paddle failed about 10 miles after I posted. Was about $75 for the switches- they come as a set, and pretty much 'plug-n-play' Took about 15 minutes to change. The little metal arm broke off. If I had been far from home- I was in my driveway when it happened- I could have popped the cover off the paddles and still used the switch enough to get me home. 2156 miles to date.
