Is the super atv flip up windshield the most popular option? And the vented one for the rear?

Solid glass for my Talon. I like it much better than the flip up on my Pioneer. Will likely swap the Pioneer to glass, too.

So I thought so, for ventilation purposes. Got one when mine was brand new and it did a good job with letting air in. Then we rode in a hurricane…
I managed a few scratches in it trying to keep it clean and I knew it would only get worse. I ended up swapping it for a MotoArmor glass one with a wiper. Haven’t used it in the heat of the summer yet but I’ll just deal with any extra heat. It’s much nicer. Also visibility is better.

I love my flip up. It’s held up to some abuse and scratch’s aren’t terrible. It was purchased in 2019 and I’ve read that new ones scratch easier. I’d probably still pick flip up if riding mostly summer months. If riding mostly cool/cold months, go glass.

I hate that it's plastic but I've had my SATV flip up for 5 years now, some scratches but not too bad. Because I'm a sunshine patriot (buggy gets parked in the winter), it spends 99% of its time in the up position; only down on those few chilly mornings and when caught in the rain. I wear a full coverage street helmet so the all-day wind in my face isn't an issue.

Because of the Talon's cab heat, I can't imagine wheeling with the window down, the thing gets HOT in the cab. And I have the original doors, open on the bottom, surprisingly little fresh air circulates.

I’ve only had my SATV flip up a few months but I have a lot of experience cleaning large Polycarbonate display cases. Avoid touching them dry as it will produce haze, as it will act like sandpaper and do not use stuff like Windex. Flood with water/soap and wash very lightly with microfiber towels, lightly get close to dry with a dedicated clean chamois, minimize any rubbing. For a longer lasting clean, prepare a wallyworld spray bottle ahead of time, put a anti-static dryer sheet in it and fill with hot tap water and shake, allow it to cool overnight and spray windshield then lightly dry with the same damp chamois. This will greatly reduce dust adhering as long as you DON’T touch it. Wherever you touch it it will collect dust. The anti static spray bottle is good for multiple washings. I use the synthetic chamois from the Chemical Guys, better than the real thing.

Solved this by installing radiator fans above our heads, including controls to adjust their speed in a 3D custom printed enclosure. It's like having AC!

All that is great, but tree branches and similar don't care about microfiber towels and anti-static dryer sheets!

I won't run anything but glass. There's just too much glare from plastic ones. I also love my wiper with washer.

I wanted to be able to fully open it for cooling (NV high desert) and we only get ~7 inches/year of precipitation on average so not having wipers is no big deal. If my environment was different glass would be it. A fixed windshield would be too hot in summer.
BTW, I was born in Syracuse and grew up on Cayuga Lake.

The flip is by-far the most versatile option out there. They won't ever break and if you take care of them they last.

Personally, I'm not a big windshield guy but I LOVE my flip and ride around with it open like 99% of the time...so its kinda like having the small half windshield. I really only close if its raining or I get into some low hanging branches.

I had a flip down on my 700-4 which was better/safer around tree branches than my current flip up on the 1000-5 …..but …..it was time consuming hassle to put up/down vs. a flip up and couldn’t be partially open like the flip up. Nothing is perfect….except the wife…..ya know.

I like the idea of glass due to less scratches. But I like the flip up option.
You will mostly appreciate the windshield wiper. Two if you and another. :)

I went ahead and got the flip up. Most of our riding is in the summer. But it will be nice for an afternoon thundershower. We cooked ourselves in our arctic cat one week at HMT because we had a full windshield and it rained a little everyday.
Looks like we are going to get to ride tomorrow afternoon. Gonna be fun. I already like the DCT over a belt drive. Much smoother taking off

You will like the flip windshield. I've had mine for 5 yrs now and sure it's scratched but I bet that I would broke 3-4 glass windshields with the branches that I have plowed through. I added a manual wiper to the drivers side and it's worked well.
