I would like to add a rear seat on the rack of my P5 for the summer. I have looked at the Grizzly brand one and It appears to be pretty good quality but it is also expensive, $1,000. I have been looking at rear seats for a golf cart which are range from $200-300. Has anyone tried this modification and if so how did you attach the seat? Do you need to manufacture some sort of support for the foot rest coming out of the hitch receiver?

If this works I think you could accomplish something similar to the Grizzly for about 1/3 of the cost!!! This is the one I'm looking at buying....... https://www.amazon.com/MODZ-Flip4-Club-Golf-Cart/dp/B07MZGW1TM/?tag=sxsweb24-20

I have seen a few P500s' out there with a modified rear seat as you describe. Personally and for what it is worth, I think it is too risky to make that modification and would consider other options if needing to transport additional people...

I'm not looking to trail ride with people back there. We are just going to use it more like a golf cart for when we are camping. Just a way to put around the camp grounds. I will probably put the exhaust silencer on there as well. I realize that make it lose HP but I'm not concerned with that for putting around.

I will be doing this mod also once it gets warmer here. I won't be hitting the trails with anybody on back either but the P5 replaced our lifted golf cart and is mainly used for work around the property and the kids to ride around the yard in. The Grizzly Works seat is nice but way overpriced in my opinion. A golf cart rear seat has been done by a few on this site and looks to bolt up fairly easy and much more affordable. :)

I thought about buying one of those golf cart seats for a p500. This is what I ended up with. We have been totally happy with this modification. In fact it works so good I helped my parents and my brother inlaw do the same thing to there p500s. They used a Universal UTV bench seat from Cabela's instead. We just modified the legs on the Cabela's seat to sit lower to the ground and angled back. I thought I would want to take the seat off when I'm hunting and not hauling kids. But it turns out having the seat there to store backpacks, gear, coolers, game bags is super useful. It protects everything and gives you multiple places to tie down, or don't tie-down anyting and it still stays in because the door Nets & seat won't let it fall out.. I also really like the looks of it. also, don't be intimidated by it it's a lot easier to do then it looks, I'm no genius and I figured it out. If I end up building another rear roll cage I think I might use a set of AJ Landmark trampoline frame legs. If they are thick enough gauge? You can find them on Craigslist all the time and they're already bent so all you would have to do is cuts and welds no bending.

I feel like you are selling yourself short on that. This is some killer work, no doubt it was more than a little bit of talent and innovation. Looks awesome, I bet the kids love it.

I just installed this on the back of my P500, (Great for ~$150, I did have to drill a couple holes in the rack, and 1 hole into the steel mounting bracket): Yutrax UTV Jump Seat : Cabela's

Grizzly was a bit expensive but a solid seat.

I added a support for the foot rest that inserts right into the 2” receiver. I don’t have any pics of it at the moment. I’ll photo it tonight and post them! I can still pull a trailer too with the 1 1/4” receiver!!

I hope you never have a problem but I would be concerned about injuries to passengers in a roll-over. Nobody ever plans to have one-

It isn't on there for trail riding. I wouldn't let anyone ride back there (short of an emergency) if we are trail riding. More for use getting around the camp grounds in the summer.

I’m wanting to do this. What golf cart seat model is that? Was it hard to attach to the rack? Also I never saw details on the foot rest support connected to the hitch. Thanks in advance for the help. Great idea!
