P500 Repairing a torn boot

[420Rancher]

Going over the machine i noticed that i has a small puncture in the axle boot.

I will change it out eventually but wanted to prevent further damage or water entering.
After looking on my shelves i had some

It had the consistency of toothpaste so i figured it cant hurt and seems to want to stick to the rubber.
I cleaned the boot with wd40 as there was some small gear around the damaged are.



NOt sure what others have done, but here are the results of the bonding.




The product seems to be bonding well and is more like a putty texture. I will give it a couple days and attempt to wash it to confirm it stays bonded with so e water.
I will be going for a ride to test it out later and might also coat the area with liquid electrical tape for more protection if it stays to pliable.

Don't recall who, but someone used something called shoe goo with great success.

If I remember correctly the shoe goo guy was really impressed with the results. It buys time....

P500 - CV Boot emergency repair

Back a few weeks ago, late in the afternoon, I had my 500 on the trailer and was packed up ready to leave for a 2 week trip to Colorado the next morning. I just happened to notice that the CV boot on the drive shaft between the transmission and the rear end had a tear in it about an inch to inch...

Yes, i have used shoe glue in the past on other repairs i will definitely grab some.

I bought a 2 pack of Shoo Goo, clear and black. Used the clear on boat cushions and good stuff. Even saw the black for sale at CVS on the shoe polish rack.
