Since my original thread got locked, I started this new one. Shown below is a 2 gallon mounted to the rear grab bar. The can and threaded stud/handle must be removed to raise the right rear seat but the rest of the mount can stay attached.

I really like that location! I rarely ever pop the rear seats- especially on trips that I'd take extra fuel.

Did the mounting hardware come with the mount? If not what did you use to go through the grab bar?

Will the seats still flip up in that location?
Left seat is unaffected. Can and "locking" lever have to be removed to raise right seat.

Mount only came with a backing plate and two short bolts 5/16 x 3/4" maybe, I used none of that.

I drilled through the grab bar and used stainless 5/16" x 1.5" bolts with lock and flat washers.

Looks to me like he bolted it thru

I don't know I suspect a fresh Gorilla Glue might be the way to go

@Hondoman Thank you, this is exactly what I was asking.

@JTW I'd go on about you annoying millennials but I think that has already been covered in another thread :p

If you have a mid panel that will usually cover the harness bar as well
