"A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with a Single Step"

The short 218 mile round-trip was uneventful. The P1K5 that has yet to be named is safely tucked away in the pole barn.

I've got my first three accessories that I'll be installing soon. Two came from the dealership, courtesy of a VERY healthy discount. The third was ordered from Amazon and was delivered yesterday:

Honda OEM Roof - 0SR85-HL4-501
Honda OEM Under Dash Storage Pocket - 08L71-HL4-F00
Kemimoto TPE Rear Cargo Bed Liner Mat

Once installed, I'll add some pics. So for now, you get the obligatory and completely boring "this is when I picked it up" and "this is when we got home" pics.

Ordered the KFI winch mount (101855) and the 6.0" roller fairlead just now. Now to finalize my winch and (initial) winch accessory purchase ... whatever that ends up being.

Picked up the Badland ZXR500 and the appropriate Apex long drum aluminum hawse today. I still have a brand new 50' x 1/4" synthetic winch rope that I bought a couple years ago but never spun on the Grizzly, so I may swap that out for the cable on the ZXR5000 when I install it. Got an extra 10% off for getting a HF credit card (which I'll likely never use again ... :D ).

Hoping to get most if not all of these recent purchases installed this weekend, but the UM/MSU game is on SAT so that may bite into my install time.

Got the SATV flip-up windshield 98% installed. I say 98% because I don't exactly know how flush the top and bottom half meet. Spent half an hour loosening up all the screws and clamps and did my best to try to get the angle of the top and bottom pieces to meet completely perfect - but I can't.

The gap between the top and bottom @ 1 is just a smidge thicker than the gasket that I'm supposed to install there. I can't get the overlap @ 2 any less than this. Should I be able to get these to pieces closer than this?

Looking great! Have you been on any rides yet?
Just got it ~1 week ago. Only have the roof and SATV flip-up installed. Have the winch and under dash storage pocket here, but waiting on all the other things so I can spend a weekend installing everything else.

We did spend this past SAT afternoon and evening on a bunch of back roads within about 10 mile radius of the house/lake and stopped to visit a daughter & SIL who just moved into their brand new house about 5 miles away. Boy, did the Pioneer get muddied up (inside and out, including us!) - it was rainy and crappy all day -- and it was great!. Wife wants to do a trip up to Traverse City with some friends area early December, so I have to get all my accessories and such installed before then.

I talked to Joe @CEC Enclosures on Monday and paid for my order. He told me it would ship out by next THU 11/11 and, if not, by THU 11/18 because they were sold out ATM.

I don't know what kind of magic they are whipping up over there at CEC Enclosures, but Joe text me the tracking info for my shipment last night (11/3)!

Kudos to CEC Enclosures for fast shipping. Hope the product is as good as some say.

Ordered some RAM Mount stuff for a Galaxy A7 10.4 tablet. Had some pieces in the pole barn (ball, arm) so all I had to order was the tablet holder and clamp for the roll bar.

Spent some time in the pole barn the last couple of days installing some of the many farkles I've picked up over the past week or so. So far, this is what I've managed to get done over the last day and a half:

Installed:
Second battery (Mighty Max)
Tru AM battery isolator kit + dual voltage meter (from the HondaSXS.com club store)
Cole Hersee relay
Key on power cable (from HondaSXS club store) - yes, you CAN do this by reaching in from the wheel well!
12 circuilt fuse block
Recoil positive and negative bus bars (installed positive, but didn't hook it up yet)
Badland ZXR5000 winch using KFI winch mount.
Replaced steel cable with SuperATV 4500# synthetic rope
Added KFI winch stopper, replaced OEM hook with Apex 5,500# forced alloy hook

Ordered (yesterday):
BOSS Audio Systems MCKGB350B.6 Weatherproof Marine Gauge Receiver
BOSS Audio Systems MPWT60 Marine ATV UTV Roll Cage Waketower Speaker Pods
BOSS Audio Systems MUSB35 Universal USB 3.5mm 6 foot long Auxiliary Interface Mount and Cable

Assembled a "get unsuck" bag with a variety of items I picked up from HF today:
Badland 2"x20' 6,600# recovery strap
Badland 4"x8' tree saver
Badland 20K# snatch block
D-shakle 2" receiver hitch
D-rings, etc.
Hercules tool bag to hold it all

If you want to install the Cole Hersee relay (or another brand, for that matter), you can actually reuse the push pin (retainer) clip that holds the plastic body panel to the steel frame (see red arrow in picture -- in the upper left corner under the hood, to the left and past the aux battery slot). That retainer clip is super strong and will hold one side of the relay. This way, you you only have to drill ONE hole thru the steel frame to secure the other side of the relay. After drilling the second hold, I used a 1" self-tapping screw with neoprene washer to hold it in place. SUPER solid.

And for anyone wondering how you drill a hole through steel (the frame under the plastic) when there is no room to fit a full sized drill in there (I'm talking to you, @RobSparre), just pick up one of these. It turns your normal drill into a 90 degree right angle drill for about $20:

You put the right end in your cordless drill (like you would chuck a hex bit). You do have to use drill bits that have hex end (not the smooth end), as the hex end of the drill bit goes in the magnetic hex chuck (on the left). The entire thing swivels so you can drill holes where you can't otherwise fit a big drill.

And if you've never used a step bit, you're missing out.

Didn't get as much done today as I had hoped, but my PBR dash panel never arrived (thanks again, USPS).

Installed the Honda under dash storage:

Installed the RAMmount bits and pieces to hold a Galaxy A7 10.4" tablet:
1636332792925

Installed the "double" gasket seal (one on upper half, one on lower half) to complete my SuperATV flip-up windshield install:
1636332854694

Gave her a bath in preparation for installing the CEC Enclosures full soft enclosure.
1636333053878

Ordered some 4AWG cables for running between the aux battery, relay, fuse box, and the bus bars (the 10AWG stuff I used just to make sure everything was wired correctly.

Also installed the set belt override from the HondaSXS Club store.

Received the Boss stereo head unit and Boss cage mount speaker pods. Will be install that when/after I get my PBR switchplate/cupholder combo.

All in all, a reasonably productive day.
