Has anyone taken a dremel to the bottom of the shift gate to give more throw for low gear engagement? My shifter is adjusted correctly, but if I’m nice to it when shifting to low I will get the - and very light grinding. If I go to high first, then go to low more roughly, it’s fine.... At this point, I am almost certain I don’t have gear problems... Never have had the loud bang or any loud grinding. Any thoughts on the dremel idea?

I've been getting the same thing as you. I keep forgetting to check my cable adjustment so mine may be out. Let us know what you do and if it changes anything.

Just thought about something, from when the dealer did my recall inspection, the sub trans still has conventional oil in it... I had no problems before that, but it had synthetic in it before... I’m going to change that and see if that helps any...

I think I’m just going to take a razor knife to the circled part this evening....

Well, I bet I won’t have this problem anymore... So I just took a piece of 80 grit sandpaper and took my time. In about 10 minutes, I had it down to my liking. About a millimeter from the metal plate behind it. It gave a lot more throw on the shifter. Then I changed the oil to synthetic, and adjusted the shifter to where it had more slack towards reverse than high. If that makes sense... So I should never miss low again!
