I am wondering if someone can tell me what is purpose of the diff lock cable on the sub transmission shifter? I know it goes to the rear diff control box. But why does the diff control box need an input from the gear selector?
I have looked for a principle of operation in the service manual but don’t see anything there.
I am thinking it is probably to make sure the rear diff is in 2 wheel drive and not turf mode when put into park. I cannot think of any other reason.
Thought I would ask on here before I started digging.
Thanks in advance.
