I know you guys do not want to see another snorkel question. But I cannot find a complete list of what you need. I have a 1000-5. All I need to no is what size hose you guys use and how long do I need to get? I'm planning on hitting the hardware store today and would like to get everything at once. Thanks guys

No I'm wanting to leave it under the hood just move it under the dash like others have. I don't play in water but want it for the insurance. I'm more concerned on what lines are a must and how y'all have done it.

This should be helpful....
I built mine based on @ghost s design.

Stealth Snorkel Examples - Honda Pioneer 1000

I did this from the above suggestion was a snap to install/add not much to install (see pics).

Also as for protecting the vent lines once I have them moved up high do you think using the fish tank bubblers on the end of the line will work for protecting debris and water from entering the vent lines (see pic)? I looked at the chain saw fuel filters and they were $6.00+ each and the fish tank bubblers are $.50 each.

GM,
Saw these filters at the small engine shop and as mentioned before they are over 6.00 each so I found the fish tank bubbles at Walmart for .50 each. I ran the vent lines for rear diff, fuel tank, transmission and line for shift box yesterday I saw the front diff line ran way up into the dash so left this one alone. I've learned a lot from this forum thanks!

GM,
Does anyone recommend an aftermarket air filter for the end of the Snorkeler? The piece of foam that was in the air box looks like a pre filter and not an air filter

I just wadded up that pre filter and shoved in the PVC and secured it with a couple wires...Some are running filters my .02 is its not necessary your still flowing through the filter in the airbox . I do recommend the pre filter to keep out the large debris.

In my pics you can see I did the same wadded up the filter and shoved in the end of the flex hose. It's a tight fit so not worried about it getting sucked into the engine. I still may look for a real air filter

IMG 3683 I trimmed my filter with scissors so it wouldn't be too tight, then used cross wires to keep it from getting sucked down

How hard is it to remove the hood with that setup?
Not hard at all.. mine is very tight around the pipe so it's more difficult than others. But we're talking 10 seconds longer.. I just have to pull down on the hood to clear the front clips and then slide it up and off. Oh, and pull the filter or snorkel riser off, aluminum pipe stays in place.
