Haven't yet decided on replacement tires for BH 2.0's but since I don't plan any suspension modifications I won't go taller than 28 inch and I'ld like to stay with the 11"rear/9"front width. Trails here can be rugged with loose rock, much of it submerged in creek beds and some mud holes. Black top isn't an issue so DOT's aren't necessary. I do want a decent load capacity.
Presently considering 27" Roctane XD's 11"rear/9"front or ITP Blackwater EVO's in 28" with 11"rear/9"front. I like that the EVO's are available in 28" and are made in USA. Price is similar.

Comments please: Are the EVO's are tough as the XD's? Will the EVO's be better in mud than the XD's? Also the way ITP lists the load capacity I'm not sure it is as high as the XD's?

Not sure if this will help, but I would be sensitive to ply, durability and overall tire weight. Here is a video that may help in deciding as well,

I really liked the Roctane. I ran them in 27", stock size. They are rougher on hard pack or hard top. They were great on rocks. I did not like their mud performance, but @joeymt33 really did. I don't think you can go wrong either way. They were true to size for me at 14 lbs all the way around.

My opinion on your two choices is that you will be happy either way you go because that is two very good tires.

From my experience, the Blackwater EVOs have slightly better mud performance but slightly worse rock performance. I believe the rounded profile of the black water Evo helps it ride smoother and steer more precisely. The roctanes is definitely a rough riding tire.

Both use a hard rubber compound and both are fairly heavy duty tires so take your pick and you’ll be happy either way.

psi on 15" MSA wheels. If i'm not mistaken, they are a few pounds lighter than the roctanes tho. Not much trail time on them yet, but i can tell you the sidewalls are stiff! Even at 8 psi there's almost no sag! (I should have bought beadlocks lol)

They do run short in the 30’s but they are actually a little tall in the 28 inch size.

Sorry for the bad info then, I had read in a few places that the 28's were measuring 27.25-27.5 at trail pressures. Thanks for the info.

I measured 28.25” and so did @ohanacreek. I guess trail pressure varies though. I think 8 psi was where I tested.

I measured the 30’s at 28.5” at 8psi but that was a 30x10-14 where as you have 15” wheel.

I bought the evo's for some stock deluxe wheels and ran them for about 8 months. I had to get them fixed twice for pinch flats. Since switching to the Roctanes, I've yet to get a flat. In my personal opinion, Roctanes are the way to go!

Mine were short till I left them at 32psi for a week then they measured 30” at 9psi.

32is below max pressure stamped on the sidewall.

They are definitely heavier, the 30” roctane HD weighs as much as my 30” Evo AND the dual beadlocks it’s mounted on. They aren’t the perfect tire but they are the best all around tire I’ve owned. They do well in mud and on rocks, and ride well on hardpack. They do NOT wear well on pavement though.

I haven’t had any pinch flats with the Evos but I run 9psi and have dual beadlocks. I had SEVERAL pinch flats with the bighorns.

I emailed STI and asked about side wall construction of the Roctane XD knowing that many UTV tire side walls a just 2 ply...they responded that the ENTIRE tire is 8 ply contruction including the side wall...that confirmed my choice.
