Correct. It covers the entire bottom, places there no current skid and therefore nothing to mount screws in without drilling

I just used self tapping screws to be done with it and they worked fine just don’t over tighten them or else they’ll strip

It uses all if the factory holes and then 12 additional holes you have to make. You can either use self tappers or drill/tap for bolts. 8 of the holes are in the round lower side rails and 4 are into the inner frame rails.

From having just done it, I can tell you there isn't a ton of material to run a tap through, however, I just came back from PTO and not a single one came loose much to my surprise. At every stop I was checking the thing because I was certain one was going to pull loose.

The SSS A-arm skids leave something to be desired though.

Thanks for all the advice. What skid plates do you recommend? For mounting a winch, will all I need is the Kfi mount? Looking at a badlands 3500 winch? Is that sufficient? Thanks

KFI winches have metal gears.....

I did the same thing, but used the (expensive) very fine threaded self tappers....
