I have got to stop watching these threads. Why don’t I need full skid plate???
It’s more insurance then anything, first stick or rock that goes up and busts the oil pan, floor, electrical etc will cost more then a good full skid plate.

Oh wait why don’t you, sorry but you need one, lol.

Caved in both engine cross members and the front one rubbed through the oil pan. The engine crossmembers now have tube gussets welded to them and I have an additional frame crossmember ahead of the subtransmission to protect the case and shifter

Not sure on the placement of the winch solenoid but it fits super tight in the spot it’s in and doesn’t interfere with the hood. Also not sure about the light bar placement but I don’t want to put it below the top bar and didnt really like it above it but might remount it and see what I think.

I mounted my winch solenoid the the exact spot ...ish... just on the opposite side. never had an issue. I also put a circuit breaker in line just in case. Pretty cheap insurance. Something like this BREAKER

There is pretty minimal clearance between the sub trans and the bottom of the machine. I added 1in steel cross members to the bottom side. Without them the skid plate can flex up and smash the motor or sub trans.

Wow, what did you hit to do that or was it just something that happened over time?

I may do that, it is a good idea.

I think Ohanacreek told me about it. I mounted it right where you have your tru isolator in that little pocket. One day something caused my winch to turn on while i was hauling my machine and I didn't even know. Long story short the little breaker tripped and avoided any damage. Im sure it would have been bad without it.

Hopefully that won’t happen since I wired the main winch power to the stinger, so it can only get power when the key is on, in theory.

Funny i put my ground bar in the exact same spot. Looks like you have a master solenoid back there too? Great way to go.
Yup that’s where the stinger is, so the winch and fuse box only get power when the key is on. I do wonder though if an 80amp solenoid will last with the winch on it. Going to order a spare. The winch did come with a circuit breaker I could wire in if I move it directly to the battery, it’s a one time use breaker as I didn’t see a way to reset it.

To me that just felt like the best place for the ground bar 😁

The 2021 P1K 5 that I looked at on the show room floor of a dealer had full skid plates. I asked if they were included and the salesman said yes.
True?
It was a Deluxe.

My 2021 came with a factory “full” skid plate, it’s plastic about 1/4” thick. It’s fine for yard work but if you plan on trail riding I would replace it with an aftermarket. I’m debating on the superatv or trail armor, haven’t decided yet.

Nope, mine came with a thin piece of plastic that is in no way a skid plate down the center. Now maybe that dealer installed and he was just saying they are included on their model they are selling but not from the factory. But if it is just down the center and not covering the sides it’s more of a cover then anything as it is brittle, thin and would be destroyed quick by anything.

All the main wiring is done, waiting on one more USB port and some switch blanks to fill in the switch plate. Garmin is wired up and works great with the BOSS bluetooth audio for controlling tunes. For around $100 the BOSS sounds good, it won’t compare to the high end bass filled systems but for just listening to music it should work well and is loud.

The Garmin covers up the volt meter to the passenger or straight on but the drivers seat can easily see them still. The Garmin also works as a speaker phone.

Also, the fan override is awesome, it pushes the air right into the cab, I think if you remove the lower center plate and turn the fan on it’ll heat the cab really well. I almost think you could put vents in and push air to the window pretty easy.
