Ready, Set, Snow: 12-10-20

I installed the Denali Pro Snow Blade Today. It was 71F :/ the blade seems nice and sturdy. I had an issue with the mounting bracket that locks the angle of the blade. One of the brackets does not line up. It is number 6 in the diagram. I will include some pictures of it installed and removed from the mount. HondaSXS took care of me tho and shipped out new brackets 👍 I purchased some pull pins from tractor supply for the blade sliders. I wanted to be able to adjust the height as needed. I plan on going from gravel drives to asphalt/concrete drives. I have never used a plow before so I just assumed it may need adjusting so I used pull pins instead of the included cotter pins. I am excited to use it and it looks great.

HondaSXS took care of me. I had new brackets in just a couple days and I have them installed and the plow is ready for work!

The Arch: 12-15-20

I installed the front high lifter forward arched control arms today. The only odd thing I noticed was the factory right front upper ball joint seemed like the thread ends were messed up. I had to fight it to get the nut off. Otherwise everything went smooth. It looks good. I plan on doing the rear control arms Thursday.

I got the rear arms installed and did an alignment. They look really good. I put the camber bolts in backwards at first and had to redo them. Other than that it went smooth. IMG 20201217 140946 IMG 20201217 140949 IMG 20201217 140952

The upper ball joint threads are made from a super soft metal, I jacked mine up tapping them out with a nut on them.

Those threads in the picture were from the nut just being taken off. I am happy for my high lifter parts.

New Shoes: 12-17-20

Throughout the week I have been working on what I wanted to do with my wheels. I went with a 14"x7" 5+2 Vision Bolt 544BL Beadlock Wheel. I thought it would look cool with the rings painted orange. I was going to have them powder coated but I spray painted them instead. They turned out really good. I chose spray paint because I realized that it is easier to redo when they get scratched or beat up. I used Westlakes paint. I have had good luck with their paint in the past. I buffed up the rings with some 3M scotch brite and then cleaned them up and painted them. I mounted some 28" SuperATV Intimidator Tires and it turned out really good.

A Little More Volume: 04-14-21

Purchased the 2nd Aomais Go Speaker so I can stereo sync 2 together and get some more volume. They seem really nice, loud, and clear. It didn't take much to install them. I am currently using some bungee balls wrapped around the ROPs. I think I will get some roof clamps and mount them to the speakers some how to make an easier mounting system. I don't think you can find a better system for $125. That's just my opinion. They are also very well waterproof as I found when I dropped the first one into lake Michigan. It floats and I grabbed it and it still works great.

An Example: 06-17-21

Just to show how my projects all go. At the bottom of this pile is my high lifter lift. I have had it since May 4th. On top of the pile is some light bulbs for the truck, a transmission for a trailblazer 250, a chain for the 300ex, and the newly painted beadlock for the pioneer spare. So many projects and not enough time.

Time For Some Catching Up: 07-09-21

I did a few projects thru the month of July. I added the high lifter logo that came with my control arms to the rear of the roof. I put some orange paint under it to keep up with the nice theme.

I added 2 bungee style cargo nets to the rear top of the rig above the seats. I used a small hole net that is black and then a second larger hole net in orange. I used the provided clips in the packaging to wrap around the various edges of the ROPS.

I added some Kolpin mounts to the upper rear ROPS. I used hose clamps to attach them to the ROPS. I use these mounts to hold a shovel that I got from Menards.

I used the space on the driver side upper ROPS area to mount an axe as well. It fits solid and tight. I drilled a hole on the rear plate section where a pin is passed thru securing the axe in place.

I mounted a hi lift jack onto the ROPS overhead towards the rear. I used some jeep bar mounts.

I got the spare tire mounted and beadlock painted.

Lastly I purchased the vinyl decal stickers in orange. I have only done the front and have not done the rear yet. I was a little disappointed in the fitment. They don't seem to be accurately cut and it would have been super nice if the seller had used transparent transfer tape.

So far everything seems to be working out well.

Let There Be Light: 07-16-21

I installed some LED fog lights on the ROPS on the rear facing the sides. I used hose clamps to mount them in place. I have not wired them up yet however testing has shown they are nice and bright.

I replaced my DIY LED whips with some store bought versions. I have plans on doing a signal kit, and trailer wiring at some point. I really wanted the whip control box to be integrated into the lighting system. I wasn't able to find much info on making my own system like this so purchasing it was the easiest thing. I used a couple of the bar mounts per side to mount the whips. I used a sticky wheel weight meant for balancing to space it and everything is solid. It slightly hits the bed when dumping but the only time the bed is up for me is engine maintenance so it doesn't bother me.
