P1000m3 Thoughts On Buying A 1000-3 Deluxe

Hello, this is my 2nd post here on the site. I’m thinking of buying a new Pioneer 1000-3 Deluxe in red. I’m also considering the 700-2 Deluxe or 700-4 Deluxe.
I’m not sure which one to buy. I don’t need a 1000 but I like the options it has compared to a 700 (turf mode/H/L vs. only drive and reverse on the 700).
This will be a very costly investment for me so I have to get it right the 1st time. I don’t want to settle for something I don’t want. The only other side by side I’ve had was a Kawasaki Mule 2510. It did all I needed to do but I got tired of working on it so I sold it.
The accessories I plan to purchase and have installed are a winch, windshield, and roof. Possibly some c.v. boot guards also. Maybe even a good quality sound bar.
What are your thoughts/opinions?

When buying toys, I always ‘bought up’ and never regretted it. I never owned a BMW car, Audi, KTM motorcycle or other status symbol but I’ve owned some fun (Japanese) toys from dirt bikes, street bikes, snowmobiles and now a SxS. The 700 only has a 3 speed as far as I know and the P-1000 has the dual range DCT 6 speed. There’s no contest there in my world (riding at 10k + feet, I need all the HP I can afford). The 700 may be ‘ok’ at your sea level, it would never git ‘er dun up here.

Don’t compromise, save up for the 1000 IMHO.

Well the P1 is no RZR or KRX. But the P1 is way more versatile, excels in yard work due to the Turf mode, and when the tough gets going the Diff lock comes in handy on the trails, your just going to be doing it slower and picking the less difficult trails, but it's no slouch. Happy trails!

I sold my 700 a month or so ago and got a 1000-5 deluxe. I like the 1000 a lot better so far. Better ride, more power, low range and turf mode done it for me. Wouldn't go back

My wife always looks at me funny in the talon on pavement and gravel. It sounds like I’m driving a race car because of the lack of turf mode. Tires squawking every turn. The 700 will be the same way.

Buy the P1000, you wont regret it. A friend of mine has owned a P700 for 5 years and 16k miles, and recently rode with me in me in my P1000-3 and kept telling he made a mistake, wished he’d bought a P1000 instead.

I’d say a lot depends on what you are doing with it. If you are just doing chores around the house/farm the 7hundo will do you good. If your doing chores and riding trails the 1000 is a very capable machine. Like @Smitty335 said about the turf mode, that makes all the difference for me, I love being able to put it in turf mode at the house or when riding paved or hard pack roads and I don’t tear up the tires or yard. You said that the 1000 has stuff that you liked, then the answer is clear… P1000 for the win. Also…

Coming from someone who’s had a 500, 700-4 and 1000-5, buy the 1000.

Every time I've stepped up and bought the best I've been satisfied and glad i did. The times I "went cheap" and bought something less than I really wanted in order to save a few bucks I've regretted i.

Buy the 1000 and enjoy it.

I would still vote for the 1000-3. But if you want a cheaper machine, I personally would get a 520 over a 700.

I’ve driven with a lot of machines, and the 520 will do everything the 700 does in a smaller package.

You may have already seen this, but if if you've decided on the 1000 over the 700 or 520, be sure to read all the responses I got when I recently asked if I should get a 1000-3 or a 1000-5. It helped me realize that the latter would be the best choice for my needs (yes, YYMV).

I tried to refrain from posting on this question as I don't have a P700. I have only seen one and the owner, occasionally posts on this site, found it ideal for his needs. I know three P1000-5 owners and they love their machines. However, upon consulting with them, they felt the P1000-3 , a deluxe by the way, was the way to go for me. I bought a P500 back in August 2020 to replace a EZGO Sporting Clays cart. At 1025 lbs it was the "A" answer for my toy hauler and my gun cart needs. I was and am so impressed I immediately snapped up the 2021 P1000-3 D and sold my 2012 Polaris Ranger. I have previously had a 2008 Ranger, a 2013 (?) Teryx and a 2015 Teryx.

The Honda P1000-3 is perfect for me around my rural property in the Rocky Mountains. I put a roof, windshield, winch and have the snowplow on standby. We use the PK dern near everyday for something or other.

Let us know what you choose.

I’m still on the fence on either the 700-4 deluxe in camo or the 1000-3 deluxe in red. It is a tough decision and I truly appreciate all the responses here, and I want them to keep coming. I will definitely post pictures once I make a purchase. I’m leaning more towards the 1000-3 deluxe but still undecided.
Here’s the deal. I have a 9 year old son, a 6 year old daughter and a 14 year old step son. My daughter can ride in the front between me and my girlfriend, my son has his own Honda TRX90, and my step son can ride my Honda Foreman.
What do I do, oh what do I do?? It’s driving me nuts! 😂

I honestly can’t see getting the 1000-5 when the kids have ATVs they can ride (except at night). I don’t want to spend the money for a 1000-5. I’m debating on the 1000-3 because of price also. It is a tough decision. The cheapest I’ve found on a red 1000-3 deluxe from a dealer 1.5 hours away (whom I’ve bought from in the past) is $16,497 +ttl and a $50 state trauma fee charge.
