I honestly can’t see getting the 1000-5 when the kids have ATVs they can ride (except at night). I don’t want to spend the money for a 1000-5. I’m debating on the 1000-3 because of price also. It is a tough decision. The cheapest I’ve found on a red 1000-3 deluxe from a dealer 1.5 hours away (whom I’ve bought from in the past) is $16,497 +ttl and a $50 state trauma fee charge.
you never said kids where involved! That for sure seals the deal on P1K5! Lol
Oh you will wish you got the P1K5 over the 3 and deff over the P74 with kids. those kids are not going to like riding behind you in the sxs that ill guarantee. Once or twice and They’ll be done! Have you ever tried looking at used? There are some P1K5’s with barely any miles on them for good prices.

BTW thats dirt cheap on the trauma fee and the price today on the P13! Id be all over that like fly on $hit! But Id make sure to get that in writing before i made that trip cuz it sounds fishy. Must be an EPS. For example, My P1K5 eps in early 16’ was that price at normal pricing. A P1K3 was just under 1k less.

Have your wife drive the 700 on a sloped side hill. Like mine, she said NO, buy the 1000. Way more stable and worth every penny. Have towed in 3 Razors, one twice. Blown clutches and belts. Honda just geared down and drug them back to hunting camp with no issues. I have the 1000-3 and love it. It is the only rig I can carry 8 buckets of rock crystals out of the desert and still ride comfortably in the cab. Don't even consider the 700. It is too tipsy and gutless.

I’ve had bad luck buying used so that’s out of the question.
The regular 1000-5 (non-deluxe model) is $16,797.

I don’t want to spend the money for a 1000-5.
According to the prices your getting, thats an extra $300 and you dont want to spend the extra? 🤨
either way you go, I wish you luck with these ever tough choices lol but keep us posted on your OTD price and again #POIDH!

We've had XP 1000s, KRXs, quads, Pioneer 500s- the whole line up. I wouldnt trade 1 of them for my Pioneer 1000-5.
IMO the resale on the 1000-5 is significantly better if the time ever comes- worth the 300 dollar bump without question.

Agree that the 1000 is the play either way tho- you'll love the turf mode. Saves your grass but maybe more importantly- your tires. I'm at pushing 2000 miles on the first set of bighorns I put on it. Prolly still have 50% tread. You would NOT be doin that with a full time diff lock.

What are the differences between the 1000-5 and 1000-5 Deluxe?

Having had a 700-4 and traded for a 1000-5, the answer for me was obvious. The 700 may have been a better choice if I lived elsewhere. The terrain out here is way different than east of the Miss river. The suspension/ground clearance on the 700 didnt cut it for me, out here. The tranny only having 3 gears, made the thing noisy over 25 mph. I will say that the 700 was dead nuts reliable. I put over 1900 miles on it, mostly hunting in some really rocky and rough terrain. It never let me down. Back east, lower elevation and not as rough terrain, 700 may not be a bad choice. I live at 4500', hunt from there up to 9000. The terrain where we hunt is more rock than anything. The 700 struggled and I cant believe it took me 4 years to figure that out.

Admittedly, a good part of my decision to get the "top of the line" P1000-5 SE was availability. It was the only model the dealer had in-bound that was not spoken for. Even so, delivery was delayed and I ended up waiting about 6 weeks (not bad, considering).

That said, I do like the i4WD feature (shared with the LE version), and although I would have settled for the 1000-3, it's a plus to be able to load up with as many as 5, should the occasion arise. The rear seats disappear when not needed, and don't detract, in any significant way, from rear cargo capacity when not in use. Having the full roof is a plus, IMO. Besides, if I don't spend some of the money I worked hard for, the gummint will figure out a way to take more of it.

I have a deposit on a 1000-5 Deluxe in Vapor White. Dealer ordered it 8/26. Despite them telling me it's got a 29 OCT ship date, I have little confidence in that.

I also have a deposit on a 1000-3 SE. It's supposed to ship 2 days ago (29 SEP).

I've gone back and forth on the 3 vs 5. Most say 5 for seats I'll never use. Some mention resale value, which is of no concern to me. All my kids are grown, moved out and most are married. I want this as much for utility (likely more) as sport/trail.

Bottom line, whichever comes in first is what I'm buying. :)

I lied. I'm waiting for the 1000-5.

Not only do I still have the deposit on the 2021 1000-3 Special Edition locally, I found one IN STOCK right now that's only an hour away, and for less money. Still waiting on the 1000-5.

As of now, unless something changes, I’m going with a 700-4 deluxe in camo. Super ATV flip-up windshield, 4,500 lb. winch, and a plastic hard top roof. Gotta decide on a dealer. I have 3 to choose from but not sure which one could get it in stock the fastest.

I dont even have my HP1000-3 Deluxe yet but from what I have been hearing from most everyone here I know I would not be happy with the 700. If I would have needed the extra seating then the 1000-5 would be a no brainer for me. Your money and your decision. At least if you don't end up liking the 700 you would not have a problem selling it and not lose much if anything on it. But then you would have to wait who knows how much longer to get the 1000-5.

Sounds like a good choice for options. It will be a huge step up from an old mule.

Exactly. That old Mule done everything I needed/wanted, I just got tired of working on it. Who knows, I may even end up with a Pioneer 700-2 seater deluxe. That would be a step-up from the Mule also.
I just can’t see spending all that money for something I really don’t “need.”
