I have a 2018 100-5 LE and want to upgrade to beadlocks and 28" tires. A few things I think I want, but want advice from those with more experience.

Proposed upgrade and reasoning:

1. 28" tires so I don't have to lift;
2. 4 of the same wheel/tire combo for interchangeability;
3. MSA Beadlocks 14x7 (3.5 + 3.5 offset); Is 7" wide enough? The OEMs are 9" right?
4. ITP Mud Lite II tires; I ride trails, mud and some rocky areas.

What will the 3.5 offset do to the OEM stance/track? Do I need spacers? I really like ITP tires (had 589 M/S for years). What else would be similar?

Thanks!!

Fronts are 6.5" and the rear are 8". Most Everyone on here goes with a 7" in a 5+2 offset. Some 6+1. Either way u will have to have a spacer in the rear if u want the rear width to be the same as the front. It's not necessary but most do add the spacer. Blackwater evolutions tires are similar to the 589s. They do pretty good in mud. Decent on rocks. Wear heavy on blacktop and they're loud on blacktop also. I will probably buy them again when these wear out.

Ok, this is where I get confused...I rarely can find a wheel listed with the 5+2 offset. Are they just sold out or are there just not that many of them?

Also, wouldn't the 3.5+3.5 wheels give me a bit larger stance--1.5"? So that wouldn't hurt anything would it?

Idk, I'm still running stock 12 inch wheels with the evos. I thought the 5+2 was the most common. I’ve seen people with 4+3 and 6+1 but ive never seen anyone say anything about the 3.5+3.5 that u mentioned.

I went with the 5+2 and added a 1 inch spacer from @RB3offroad in the rear only to even up the wheel track. Tires are Bighorn2 6 plies, 28x9x14 and 28x11x14. They work great for me and no rubbing with the 28's but I have the standard skid plate. I had no trouble getting the 5+2 although it was 3 years ago and they were from Louisiana.

This chart should help you understand it a little bit better. I run 6+1 with 30x10-14 tires. I have a 1” spacer on front and 1.5” on the back.

that tire sounds like a 5+2 not a 3.5

FYI so Nobody else has to go through what I just did. OEM rims for a 2017 Pioneer 1000 LE are :
Front 14x6.5 with a 4.5+2 offset.
Back 14x8 with a 5.5+2.5 offset

Theres a lot of misinformation out there about these OEM sizes.

i went with 4:3 offset And no spacers to clear my Fox shocks After I put a bracket lift on. Spacers are not ideal if you can use the correct offset instead.

Thanks, that's what's so frustrating about this offset issue, there's not great info on specs, but even less info on what difference the actual offset makes for any particular model of machine.

Were those actual measurements or did you find them in the specs somewhere in writing?

Those are the actual specs printed on the inside of the rims.

I replaced my stock 27” bighorns with 28x10 Tusk Terrabites all the way around on Tusk beadlock wheels. All wheels are 5-2 offset with a 1” RB3 spacer on the rear. Worked great. Tracks basically same as stock.

I went with a 6+1 offset because most trails here are 64”, and if I made it any wider I couldn’t go anywhere! STI is the only brand that still made 6+1 that I know of.

I also went with ITP baha cross Xd 28x10x14 tires front and back so I can rotate them and easily bring a spare.
I did 8 ply because a 1700 lbs machine is hard on tires, and NOTHING is worse than getting a flat 20km from home.
I find them smooth and quiet, but the rubber is hard, which make the ride firmer than stock, with the beadlock rim, I was able to deflate them safely which helped offset the firmness.
I had medium agressive tires on and they were so noisy and vibrated so much on our trails I sold them ASAP.

Proposed upgrade and reasoning:

1. 28" tires so I don't have to lift;
2. 4 of the same wheel/tire combo for interchangeability;

Thanks!!
