Im curious to know everyone elses experience on towing their 700, I seem to struggle no matter the situation and its not from lack of power from my truck, does anyone have any tips or tricks to help me out?

Thanks, Jim

they are not the must aerodynamic rigs to begin with, not really much you came do except tow it and bite the bullet. oh and use "tow mode" if your truck has it.

I do use the tow mode, i guess i feel a 2500 with 400+hp should handle it better but maybe not

Make sure you don't have the SXS too far forward on the trailer. Just a bit forward over the axels

I haul my p1k-5 on a heavy duty 16' tandem axle trailer and it tows easy when I have the engine centered over the trailer axles.

Forgot to mention, I'm towing with a 1500 and only 285hp.

I tow mine on a 20' car hauler. I pull it all the way to the front. The tounge weight makes the 2500 ride better. And the truck topper helps to break the wind up better. These rigs are a parachute back there. I also take the windshield off for long hauls.

How does the trailer tow empty?
When was the last time you did maintenance, grease bearings, check spindles, wheel play, checked brakes?
Not trying to insult you by saying you don’t just something to think of. I had an issue with fishing line that had somehow worked it way in, like 500 ft of it and was causing so much drag It felt like it was pulling to the left side.

I tow with a 16 ft tandem axle trailer. I put what I think is the greatest weight of the P700 (about mid machine) over the axles. I invested in some really great tie down straps..I have the windshield on. I worry about all the force on the windshield and roof from the wind, but so far so good. As far as Power, I don't seem to have an issue, but it does tow different then when I used to have 2 atv's on the same trailer.

Didn’t notice an issue when towing the 1000-3 about 200 miles home in October when I purchased it with a raised 1500 GMC. Can tell a big difference when towing the equipment trailer with the tractor.

I tow my 700-4 on a 6x12 single axle trailer. I can easily go 80mph in my Tundra. I've thought about removing my windshield but I've never done it. Oh and I usually drive a little over 2hrs to the trails.

Depending on where u load it on the trailer the 700 is lighter so maybe move it a little farther forward and with a windshield you will feel more resistance than with it open or no windshield depending on the gear ratio. You have a 1700 lb machi e and prob 2k lb trailer shouldn' feel it but every truck is diffeent I like feeling it back there so u know its still attached

Check your electric trailer breaks. The break controller inside the cab might be going out and sending a slight surge to the trailer causing the breaks to drag and make the trailer feel a lot heavier. You will notice if you are cruising and let off the gas and the truck and trailer seem to slow down quicker than normal.

I found a drastic difference between towing with or without the windshield on my P700. With the windshield on it was like I was dragging something behind me. Tow vehicle is 02 f150 w/4.6

Does the 2500 have a HEMI or a Cummins? Wind drag will affect towing as much as weight. Our Cummins never looked back on whatever we towed, the HEMI, as with all gas burners, doesn't tow as well.If you have a drive on lift gate with expanded metal wire it definitely has a LOT of wind drag.
