Mermites. I have two. I've never used them though and I wonder how long they hold ice for?I doubt any of ya have one like this bad boy! It is military surplus, not technically made for a cooler, but does the job and tuff as nails! Actually made to hold 3 canisters to transport hot meals for troops. I think they stopped using them after Vietnam. I can not recall the nickname they gave it. View attachment 71606View attachment 71607View attachment 71608

what do you mean by average, like the run of the mill cheap ones or like yeti, Rtic or ozark trails? thanksThey seem to hold ice as long as any other 'average' cooler, and nearly indestructible.
To me, yeti, etc are anything BUT average. Average, run of the mill coleman, igloo, etc.what do you mean by average, like the run of the mill cheap ones or like yeti, Rtic or ozark trails? thanks
I just didn't wanna fork out some cash for a cooler and was hoping my mermites would work.To me, yeti, etc are anything BUT average. Average, run of the mill coleman, igloo, etc.
Just go buy a new age cooler, if your not a Yupie brand guy, buy what's the best value per QT.I just didn't wanna fork out some cash for a cooler and was hoping my mermites would work.
I used my one last year at Coalmont, but that was just a 2 day ride.I just didn't wanna fork out some cash for a cooler and was hoping my mermites would work.
In the south Fl heat and sun the Lifetime lasted 2yrs on the back of the truck. Latches and hinges were still good, it just wouldn't hold iceIm looking to get a new cooler to carry in the sxs...and im cheap..dont really want to pay yeti prices. I know theres alot of other brands out there. What brand are you carrying?..what size? And would you buy again.
That’s probably my next cooler. I have a yeti 35 and 75 right now. They are pretty good but I think the Orca is better. Having said that, I’ve had two claims with yeti on my 75 and they’ve stood behind their product and my 35 had been beat around in the boat, bed of the truck and the Pioneers.I picked up an Orca 35 last summer and it is by far my favorite cooler.
