After coming across a Rzr on the trail with a busted tie rod, got to thinking about trail spares for the P1000.

What do you carry? What parts are prone to miss haps on these machines?

Two tie rods and a pair of clamps.

Honda clamp pn: 95018-46250, BAND, AIR CLEANER CONNECTING TUBE (46)

Tierod thread Multi - Field Stripping a Tie Rod

Standard tools, recovery gear.

If it’s a long rough trip far away from truck, we generally have one spare for 2-3 machines and a couple of axles.

Day trip near truck just the tie rods, MAYBE a spare.

You guys say you carry 2 tie rods - do you carry tie rod ends at all? Or is the tie rod the issue 90% of the time? Thanks!!

Probably not a bad idea to keep them on hand...but for the.most part the tie rod is the failing point.

Last weekend's trip into Northern Nevada ended the day with a stick thru the tread of the tire. I pulled it out, plugged it and stopped for lunch.Looked again and it was already flat. Really happy I put a spare tire rack on driver's side of the bed. Yes it takes up some room, but if the tire had gone flat this fast I would be stopping every 5 minutes to air up. Luckily, put the spare on for rest of trip. Jack, spare tire, cross wrench and tie rods with big wrench, gas, water and a cooler of water, soda and a beer are essential !
