It' is a delimma my friend. I can say the Roctanes do quite ok on muddy trails and even hills. I've got the 26" x9 on my P500 and even in a rainstorm clawed its way up a 40 degree long hill in 1st gear as a virtual mud river ran down the tracks. Where the Roctanes really shine is the slick rock and hardpack.

I'm leaning toward the Roctanes. They are cheaper, taller, and should last longer.

Another thought, these tires come unmounted and its cold outside. I wonder if they will expand after being inflated in the 60° shop for a while? That might be why mine measure shorter than yours??

My measurements were taken immediately after mounting

The Roctanes you have are the 28x10x14 correct? If so the 28.5" is spot on and that's what they will measure at 10 PSI in 7" wide wheels. They don't expand much until you get in 80+ degree weather even then it is very minimal, the radial carcass on them is super rigid, maybe not the best ride but you could probably get home on them flat it need be. the sidewalls are so stiff I would rather take an ass whuppin than mount them myself without the mounting stand used in a tire shop.

Sorry guys, I should have stated why I'm pissed. These are 30x10-14!! They measure way under.

Well then when you get them mounted and aired up the 30" Roctane XD's will measure 30.25" using the method in your pictures above, I did just that with 10 PSI in them and that what they came to, FedEx picked them up to day to go back I just don't want to mess with changing the A-arms out. I like how it rides as is. Even if I wear out the OEM front shock I found out the were only $80 each to replace but push come to shove I will go with the FOX 2.0's if it gets to that point which will not likely be until 2017 for me.

They measure 28.5" unmounted. They measure 29" with 6psi and 29.5" with 14psi.

I dont get it.

Well that's a head scratcher are those 7" or 8" wide wheels? Mine were nearly a full inch taller than that at 10 PSI but I had also driven them 20 miles up and down the road the day prior, perhaps they did expand a bit from driving at higher speed? I dunno.

7" wide wheels.

They've been aired up for a couple hours now and in the heat of the shop. I'm about to head back down to check them again.

Well if you mount them on the P1K and give it a run down the road be careful the black plastic on the outer edge of the wheel well that turns into the wheel well about 1.5" wide down the back side of the tire will rub in a straight line at 40 MPH+ at the slightest bump, or roll in the road. I would say I had less than 1/4" clearance while spinning and none during suspension compression using the 2" lift.

I may wait to ride on them so they can be returned if I choose the Evos.

Thanks Jackal for your input so far.

Update. A couple hours at 14psi and 60° and they have stretched almost a half inch!

Now the question is, how much will the Evo's grow left inflated overnight? I think they will also stretch out some. But they are starting a inch shorter so they will probably grow up to be an inch less

Update on the Roctane tires. I left them in the shop inflated to 15psi for three days while away at work. I came home today to this new bigger tire!!

5fde21f1adbd6b72bcb7bf0a7837a340

I guess I should mount one Evo and see how much they grow.

CATVOS tracking says it will be here tomorrow. I hope I get a chance to install it and test it before the weekend is over.

These tires at this same pressure measured 2" shorter on the first day compared to now. They do grow, I had no idea.

I will try the Evos soon.

I know. I feel bad for saying negative things about how they were too short. Heck, I even sent ITP a letter and told them how unhappy I was with the EVOs. I may have to eat those words after testing.

That's a nice thought. I could use that for dusty conditions and the scoop for the other times when I want the ram air affect. (Not sure if it does anything at all).

I was already thinking about buying a longer tube just incase there is a real. deep water crossing. However, I really don't to go past the head lights.
