Traveller is sick! I did my normal checks that I do after every ride and found the rear diff oil to be very dark. I have magnets on my drain plugs and there was a lot of fine metal on the plug. This is probably due to the failed pinion seal I had at 700 miles. For now I have flushed the diff with ATF and refilled with new gear oil and 50% Lucas. Hopefully it lives a little longer. It's not louder at all and not rattles yet. I will go ahead and order new bearings and seals to have on hand.
I used a magnetic rod and inserted in to the drain hole and found metal.
This is the fine metal on a magnetic rod.
Seen here is after I cleaned the rod with a rag.
I was able to get metal out doing this several times. None present after the ATF flush. Glad I was using magnets on the plug!
