The rowboat finally made it! Thank you all again for all the info to get it done. Came in handy Memorial Day when I fell off in a hole that used to come up to the center caps and it had turned into a headlight level hole. Also learned that relying on my in-door storage for my recovery gear sucked when that door was mashed into the bank.

Looks good. Hopefully that saves another motor from Hydro lock

I like to keep recovery gear on both sides just for that reason.

I’m finally getting time to do some maintenance after the take over. Traveller is getting one wheel bearing and a steering rack bushing and new super ATV bushings on the rear a arms.

Also need to replace the muffler bolt that fell out and find out why it quit shifting on Saturday night.

Other than that it looks to be in pretty good shape considering how hard we rode it. All the front joints and brakes look good and everything got greased.

Yep, added a strap, tree saver, shackles to the other side as soon as I got home. What's funny is there was a stock 700-3 down in the little creek run I got stuck in. Water was prob 4-5" up his tires so I dropped in and immediately sunk to the headlights. Found out he had just finished winching through and asked if I knew how the hell to get out, lol.

Have you had any issues with the recovery points on the bumper? Thinking about adding some to mine but it seems so thin that it'd just pull through with anything more than a tie-down strap hooked to it.

You can hook to the bumper with some shackles from your local hardware store. You can take the bumper off and you will see it’s not too bad to drill it and put the bolts in. You can use a large chunk of metal or large washers on the backside

There’s a guy that makes a custom set for the pioneer but they’re about $100.

These have been tested thoroughly and there is no issue with strength.

Thanks, I looked at DYI'ing it when I had it off day 1 adding the winch/mount but thought it was too thin. What does the backside of the custom ones look like, a plate?

On the red ones it’s nothing more than four bolts with large washers.

The thread stripped out of the HMF muffler flange. It was quite annoying at the takeover. I bought a new bolt and had to use SS locknuts and a SS washer on the back.

I went ahead and did the same thing to the other side to prevent that side from failing.

I thought I’d share some info I got from @nbomar about how to connect the Baofeng radio to the wetsounds stereo system.

This will allow you to use the radio as normal to talk to someone but it will interrupt your music and play the comms through the sound bar. I absolutely love it, I used for the Takeover all week and it was flawless. Volume is adjustable so I can hear comms at 50mph full throttle. Doesn’t matter if the radio is blaring or not.

The handheld radio is still mobile as it can be unplugged and taken with you if needed when you exit the vehicle. It’s still a weaker hand held and not a 25w unit but they aren’t bad and the extended antenna helps a lot.

You’ll need a BT receiver. There are cheaper but I didn’t want to mess with this again plus I wanted seamless connection to my WS sound bar.

This is the interrupter that Bomar told me about. There may be other options but I didn’t bother researching. This one works well.

The Baofeng radio has a 2.5mm out so I bought an adapter. Note this one is a 4 pole, not sure if it needed all 4 but I didn’t want to waste time. Same price as the 3 pole. I should also not that I wanted a flexible adapter and not the rigid version that would stick out 2”.

This is the above mentioned antenna. I keep it in the glove box, not sure yet if I’ll leave it on or use it when needed.

Just for reference here is the radio I purchased and spare battery. Not sure yet how good it’s going to be. It’s supposed to be a notch up from the GT-3P.
