After seeing some members with the twisted receivers from running disk implements etc., you might want to check that area closely before routinely applying heavy tongue weights.

I just spread liquid fertilizer in my 60 acre orchard while it was raining. The product weighs 11.1 pounds per gallon and the tank was 250 gallons. With the weight of the tank plus the material I was just short of 3,000 lbs. The pioneer pulled it no problem you just have to be in the right gear. I was doing 10 mph in 2nd gear Low. No over heating, no problems. But my machine is more for utility than trail riding.

Now we're getting somewhere. Sounding more and more like a 1500lb load won't be so bad on the slopes as long as stick with the low gears. Thanks to everyone for chiming in.

I think the limiting factor will be hitch weight
I would think in this case he said 1500 pound trailer hitch weight prob wont be more that 100-200 pounds if that?

Exactly. Throw another 500lbs of gear in the P1K so outweighs the trailer and I believe I would cruising. Definitely in a low in manual. I'll have pics someday. It'll probaly have to wait until I get the ride and the trailer.

Gonna use it to pull out the stumps next?

That's what the track loader was for

This is a 2700 pound trailer - I dont like to exceed towing capacity but I was just moving this into position. Its much easier than using the truck in tight spots. The tires slipped a bit backing up a an incline (turf mode) but the engine/tranny felt fully capable with that much trailer. I wouldn't take this trail riding.

Ha no, 700-4 and a Husky 455 chainsaw. I call BS on the people saying the 700 doesn't have ANY power. That was with 27's.

Pulled this with my 700-4 about 2 miles on atv trails. It was easily 1500-2000 lbs. If a 700-4 can pull that i see no reason why the 1000 can't pull the weights your talking about.

I just want to echo what someone else said already. "Going" isn't really what you should be concerned with, it's "stopping"!! Maybe rig up a brake controller on that thing before you consider a 3000 lb. trailer.

I think a brake controller should be fairly simple. I'm not interested as I cautiously pull a trailer and its not very far or that often.

I'm encouraged w/ what this machine should be able to haul & / or tow, to be frank that is what I bought it for so it will be tested. It was after setting up on a new & much larger property last season that really got me to thinking of something new. My 00 Foreman ES has been nothing less than impressive w/ what I have hauled / towed w/ it but w/ what I did last season I don't think it would handle it too many times. I take it off it's 5 X 10 trailer, hook the trailer to it & load the trailer to haul crap around the property. Last season's set up run included 1500 lbs of corn & 2 feeders dragging on rough roads w/ terrain & across a low area holding water that was soft, 3 mile run one way, & it was August. August in Texas is HOT, high 90's - low 100's. Well beyond what the machine was designed to do but like I said one of the reasons I bought the P1K. I work em' like a rented mule but take care of em as well. Included a pic of old fateful.

We pulled around a 1300 pound camper trailer with our 700 for about 250 miles total last year didn't seem to effect it. We had 3adults and a teenager with probably 150 pounds of gear at the same time for a lot of that. It was really underpowered for that but it did it. I'm sure 1000 won't hiccup. We're looking for a larger unit for our 1000 for this summer

Joeymt33 great idea on the brake controller I didn't see that before. That would make things less sketchy heading into a corner downhill on a dirt road that's for damn sure!

I would agree with the consensus that it is more of what you can stop safely down hill rather that get rolling. You get pushed sideways in the wrong situation especially in a mountainous region the least of your worries would be breaking the receiver hitch from too much tounge weight.
