Talon UHF Antenna mount ideas

Curious if anybody has mounted a UHF Antennae on their Talon. I wanted a dual band VHF/UHF antennae but with a plastic roof, I can't use a shorter 1/4 wave because of the lack of a ground plane. Dual band NGP antennas are obnoxiously long.

I decided I'll do UHF only 1/2 wave no ground plane antennae but am curious what others have done for mounting one.

I mounted mine in the flag mount. Just had to drill it out some.

I have the same Tram antenna mounted to an RB3 mount. Works great. Search RB3offroad, as he's a sponsor here.

Put my VHF on the roof. I have both a 1/4 GP and 1/2 wave NGP but i mainly run the 1/4. Made a ground plane with aluminum tape in an X pattern on the bottom side of the roof and it works well but it isn't sticking too so good after a few rides. Will be putting a 24" X 24" aluminum sheet metal GP under the roof but need a longer NMO mount before I do that...

Try Betner communications: They have a a ground plane plate to use with this mounted to the plastic roof and works great with my Motorola radio
