Did something stupid yesterday. Picked up a 4 seater to get the family out during the downtime from Covid. Keeping 2 seater as well for now, but it may need to go after this year.

Swapped tires, soundbar, tablet mount, and rear clearance arms over to the 4 seater. Picked up some nerf bars on the way to Brimstone and installed when we got there. Had a great time and had no machine issues(note even the rzr's) Many of Brimstone's trails seem to be rougher than when we went 2 years ago. Had a great time and was great getting the whole family out now that we have 4 seats. Put about 100 miles on over 3 days there. Definitely need to upgrade the skid plate!

I went with System 3B-5 Beadlock Rims with a 5+2 offset. Tires are 32" Carnivores. I have the weight wrote down, I'll try to find and post.

Minor rubbing at full turn when stuffed. Rubbed maybe 2-3 times the whole trip.

New tire rim combo weighs 55lbs each
Stock front weighs 37 lbs
Stock rear weighs 43 lbs

Also did you cut the plastic behind where you mounted the switch? Or just drill a hole for the wire? Since I have an R vs X, the area in the rear doesn't match any of your pics.

Anyone here copy Vondy here and find good mounting locations for the control unit?

Yes, I still have and really like theSP-9100. If you open the filter access cover in the bed, I mounted in the upper left corner. Your R will be the same as the X, there is no difference in machines in that area. I follow what another member done. This location is close to battery(directly behind) and great location for running wires up the roll bar to where ever needed or down thru the center of seats to the front end.
I drilled 2 small holes for the switchplate mounts and one a little larger for the control wire to pass thru.

I originally installed in my 2 seat talon and recently moved the entire piece to the new 4 seater. I used cheap amazon connectors to make it simple to add and remove accessories and also as a common ground.

Let me know if you have any more questions. This unit makes it so easy to wire everything. Eliminating all the fuses, relays, etc. It is also easily programmable to function in a lot of different ways.

@Vondy This is from their installation instructions. Although water will not be an issue where you mounted it. I like how clean the terminal block is, seems odd they do not recommend using one.

I see yours shows the stereo, do you have the infinity connected through it?

My switchpro is not completely vertical but as it is mounted water would run out of connectors. Terminal block was my choice, may or may not be a good idea depending on riding style. Terminal block is cheap to replace if I see any corrosion. Fewer connection points the better I guess, but I like the way I did it. I also put another 4 position terminal block in front to easily hook in front accessories.

Main power for soundbar goes directly to the battery and there is a switch on the soundbar for that. I generally turn the main on for the weekend or then power up and down the unit thru the switch by the remote wire. Then keep the main switch off when stored.

I am very impressed with the Switch pros wiring system. I was hesitant due to the price, but it was well worth it in the end. I would highly recommend for anyone planning on running 4 or more accessories or want the expansion capability.

The switch pros is so simple and easy to use. No relays, fuses, or fuse blocks. It is so versatile. With the switch pros Bluetooth app you can customize the amp ratings per switch, change between ignition and battery controlled, choose and infinitely adjustable colors on switches and so much more.

Copying the idea of another Talon owner on here, I mounted unit in the rear where you access the air filter. There was just enough room to mount it all up nicely and was close to battery. The 8 position terminal made for a clean installation and made it easy to add accessories. Used a 4 position terminal to hook up all the grounds and then grounded to battery. One communication cable was run up to the console where the switches are mounted.

I am debating buying a second machine. Considering a Talon X4. Wonder what your opinions are on the Talon X2 vs Talon X4? You’ve had both and been running the X4 for quite awhile.

Other than dragging belly I like the 4 seater better in most every way. Length makes climbing feel much more stable. Always felt like the front was light in the 2 seater. Length really doesnt seem to be a factor much in regards to turning radius almost seems similar to the R model. If I was going 2 seater again, I would definitely go with the R for stability and suspension travel.
