We are having a nice stretch of super cold weather and no snow. Fingers crossed we get some good ice this year. I've been itching to get the Talon out on the ice. We haven't had a good year for ice since I bought it. There's a local lake that has ice racing weather dependent. Motorcycles, cars, Atvs, sxs. I've also got a 22 acre pond on my property that I want to get back out on. I've got a set of 235/75/15 truck tires mounted up on a spare set of wheels that I plan on studding up. Here's a Pic of my pond.

I've got a trail tank coming to help offset my mileage decrease. I've been running with a 8 gallon rotopax type tank on the rear rack.

I've also have new pistons, head bolts, and cam sitting in the garage. I'm not going to tackle that one. Waiting for a motorsports friend to free up his shop to get it done.

I've got the Bandit tender springs with my shocks revolved. The rides pretty good, but I plan on reaching out to Double E racing in the spring for a complete makeover. I like to go fast over rough terrain.

It's been cold, and the ice is ready. There are local ice racing this Saturday on a lake near my house. I've been studding up the truck tires I had mounted on other rims. 500 Kold Kutters in each tire. I'm going to lower my shock preload a little bit and run the right front shock on setting 3 to try and keep her from leaning over as much. I think the rims are 6+1 offset. I've been running spacers in the rear, but might see how it is without them.

I didn't get to go race today. Wife caught the flu. Stayed home with the kids and towed them around in the snow behind the snowmobile. Our pond has 14" of ice now, so I was out there with the talon adjusting my setup. The studded tires hook awesome, and I can still get the rear to come around some. Ran the shocks on 3 all the way around and it would stay planted without too much lean. Downshifting right before the corner, laying on the throttle, and upshifting on the apex had it turning great. They are racing again next weekend. I'll be there.

I got to go ice racing today. It was a great time. Talon hooked up awesome with the studded tires. They had a ice oval and a tt course. We ran both tracks for practice, but they didn't run a tt class for sxs. I got 1st in my heat, started 2nd in the final and lapped the entire field.
