Ok guys, been a little work in progress for a while but glad to say my project golf cart seat is finally complete.
I looked and looked on which model of golf cart seat would be the best to start with. I chose the club car ds seat. I don’t know if this is the best option but it does work and I didn’t have to go to the hardware store.
More than enough extra peices of steel come with the seat. The grab handle was actually made out of the uprights that support the roof. So with a welder, grinder, and patience it is pretty good. The main thing to get started is to notch out the angle iron to rest on the rack flush. The welder is not abosolutely necessary but save me some drill bits.
Rides really nice. I added some 2 inch cork tape under the seat frame that made contact with the rear rack. Absolutely no rattling. Transports 4 people around fine. Haven’t really tested the limits of terrain but, super pleased so far.
And no welds were made to the actual machine. All connections are bolts and nylok nuts.
